Best Burn Relief You Can Buy - M. Osborne "Sunburn on May 29, 2007

This stuff is amazing! I was given a sample of it last year at Disneyland after getting a bad sunburn. I hurt so bad I thought we were going to miss a day of playing. When we got back to the hotel, I put this on and almost immediately the pain was gone. The next couple days I alternated between sunscreen during the day and this at night and you couldn't even tell I'd ever been burned. Amazing product! Overall, the best thing about it is the instant pain relief.

Should Be Called Magic Burn Gel! - Nancy "Nancy" on Apr 5, 2007

I purchased this because I was lucky enough to have a sample of it on hand! I was cooking and put my frypan into my oven to bake a dinner. After I removed it from the oven and placed it on the stove top, I grabbed the handle and lifted the pan before realizing it was the pan I just removed from a 400 degree oven. I had a sample of this gel and put it on my burning hand. First, it stopped the pain in about 30 seconds and next it somehow stopped my hand from even blistering. It was as if I never touched the pan. I can't explain how magical this stuff really is!

Fabulous Burn Stuff! - Deborah A. MacInnis on Mar 6, 2008

My husband had part of a load of hot asphalt dumped on his bald head. Asphalt is usually 300 degrees. They used this product after they had brushed off what they could. He came home with no blisters, no burns, and not in pain. No kitchen, shop, or house with a wood stove should be without it!!!!!!! It should be in your camping gear as well!!

BURN AND LEARN - Jerry H. Bond on Jan 31, 2010

The first rule is not to get burned. However, working with a number of hot hobbies including a Fisher wood-burning stove in the workshop, accidents do sometimes happen.

For this review, I'll be referring only to 2nd-degree burns resulting in white, melted skin, blistering and peeling.

This Burn Gel has appeared in my Amazon.Com recommendations for months. I've ignored it each time. I've walked around with ice packs strapped to some medium-rare chuck of flesh for years, why change now? Why are men so stubborn and reluctant to change?

Hot mufflers on motorcycles hate me. In fact, most hot things do.

It took a cast-iron skillet in my favorite Mexican restaurant to convince me to change my errant ways. The tantalizing aroma and sight of SIZZLING chicken fajitas captured my eyes and caused my stomach to kick my brain under the table. I missed the big padded handle and grabbed the skillet.

The server always warns of a hot skillet when he places it on the table. It was not his fault.

In one ear and out the other. Another dominate male trait in my family.

Although the pain was intense and the napkins full of ice were a dripping mess, trying to eat with my left hand was a bigger mess.

My biggest regret was the embarrassment I suffered from the workers running around afraid that I might file a lawsuit. Any person who would do such a thing because they were stupid ought to be shot and removed from the gene pool.

As soon as I got home, I logged in, careful not to drip water into my keyboard, and ordered the Water-Jel Burn Jel from Amazon.Com.

Less than a month later while in the workshop, a 3-inch burn magically appeared on the back of my forearm. My doubt turned to jubilation as soon as I covered the burn with Burn Jel. The pain instantly vanished. The most amazing thing was the healing. Burns have always left scars on me. This time, there was no scar. It's been two weeks and the burn is barely visible. I am 100% sold on this product and am ordering more for every vehicle emergency kit and workshop location. Keeping one of the tiny sealed packets in my pocket at all times might be a good idea.

Don't get burned!

How To Make It Even Better! - David Michael "Kahun on Mar 10, 2010

This Water-Jel Product is quite handy to have around your Kitchen, Shop, Restaurant, Car Repair, Travel or Camping.
For Burns, It contains 2% Lidocaine HCL, glycerin, Tea Tree oil & other ingredients to give it a longer shelf life.
Most other Comments, based on 'Actual Uses', are very good stories and probabaly the best advice left by someone is "Try Not To Get Burned In The First Place",
but we are Humans and there is always going to be Accidents, nothing New there.
Here's some other possible uses, that you might want to know about when in different scenarios:
* To make it even better in your Home or Shop, get some Aloe Gel and make a 2:1 (Burn Gel/Aloe Gel), and put it in a used or old Prescription bottle (amber), Always LABEL!
* For Hornet/Wasp/Bee Stings, Make a Mixture of 1:1:1 of Burn Gel with 1 or 2% Hydro-cortisone Crm/Gel + Benadryl Gel.
Keep some in the House First-Aid Kit, Shop, Boat, Truck, etc.
ALWAYS LABEL & DATE!
* For Poison Ivy/Oak Skin dermatitis > same thing. Take some when you go Fishing or Camping.
* If you are out Camping or trekking in the Wilderness, and you get the 'piles', this will also work Externally, in an Emergency situation. Mix 2% HC Cream + Gel + Aloe Gel
+ Burn Gel, in a 1:1:1 mix and put in your Gear pak. Not for the squeamish, but might be a Life saver under a bad situation. Label & date!
* Keep all mixtures in a Dry, Cool, dark place, whether at Home, car, Boat, Back-pak, and it should have a shelf life of at least 2 years.
* I also recommend that you have some nurses or surgeon's exam gloves, to use any of these mixtures, and you can just put a half-dozen in a zip lock bag.
Perhaps, you could just put your mixture bottle in with the gloves, so everything you need is there, just make sure your hands are as Clean as possible, BEFORE you use it.

Effective Pain Relief For Minor Burns - Tradecraft on May 14, 2011

Water Jel Burn Jel is a topical cooling gel that is an absolute must have component to any first aid kit for fast relief of first degree burns. A first degree burn is the least serious type of burn in which only the outer layer of skin is burned. The skin is usually red and can be very painful. Burn Jel contains Lidocaine and works by stopping the burning process, cools the burn, relieves pain, and prevents further injury.

Although each packet is 1/8 oz. it does spread well over a rather large area. For example, I used this on someone with a severe sunburn to her shoulders, back, neck and chest. Two packets provided complete relief from her pain and lasted for about three hours. I originally tried two other "burn products" to provide pain relief but neither was effective. The relief from Burn Jel was immediate and will be my "go to" for treatment of minor burns. Burn Jel will be in my first aid kits and EDC gear.

I highly recommend Burn Jel as it provides highly effective and fast relief from minor burns. The packets are small and convenient to carry in your first aid kit. Five stars does not do this product justification! Hopefully you will never have to use Burn Jel but you should have it handy in case it is needed.

Unsure Of Effectiveness - G. Morales on Jun 10, 2009

Perhaps I was supposed to slather this stuff on really thick, but I got a mild burn from some hot sappy stuff in the kitchen. I put this on but didn't find immediate relief. I found better relief in holding my finger under running cold water for 5 minutes.

It Works Great! - S. on Feb 23, 2010

My forearm touched the inside edge of a 350 degree oven while I was taking something out (resulted in a 2nd degree burn about 1.5 inches long). I iced it for a couple of minutes and then remembered I'd bought Burn Jel a few weeks ago. I put a bit on the burn and it was AMAZING: the burning sensation was gone - immediate and total relief. I will definitely make sure I have lots of this stuff in the house at all times.

Best Stuff In The World - William E. Dupler on Oct 24, 2009

I have been using this product for 10 years and would never choose to a different product for a burn. It quickly alleviates the pain from most burns.

A Friend In Need - Enderlame on Jun 30, 2011

Grilling the hotdogs on a multi-family camping trip last week, my friend Lindsay burned more than an inch on her right index finger. We ran cool water over it and kept on preparing dinner. Ten minutes later, I noticed Lindsay sitting alone, quietly, with tears streaming down her checks. She said she was amazed at the level of pain and that her hand was largely useless.

I ran to my med kit and found one of these Burn Jels. Neither of use had used one before. The package with its picture-instructions was easy to open. The jel was easy to apply. We secured it with a loose strip of waterproof medical tape. Lindsay said the pain was 90%+ gone in moments and throughout that evening and night. In the morning, she removed the jel and was able to pitch in with cooking breakfast for our clamoring hordes. After removing the jel, there was no redness or blistering and her finger was fully mobile again.

This Is The Best - Christine L. Pierson on Jul 22, 2009

Both my father and brother are on our local volunteer rescue squad, that is how I discovered it. It is absolutely the best burn remedy I have ever used. No pain, no blisters and no scars once you apply...Thank god I found this again, I'm ordering it right now.

Good To Go! - K. "K." on Dec 8, 2009

The shipping was quick, the package arived in good condition, and everything was just as advertised. These are a great sized single use individualy packaged unit, perfect for adding to your custom tailored FAKs(First Aid Kits)...

You can, and should always build a kit to suit your needs better than the large mass marketed kits which generally tend to be filled with nonessential cheap filler items like small bandaids and sanitising wipes. Those and similar items can often be easily improvised if need be, and those type kits really should be marketed as "boo-boo" or "snivel" kits, as opposed to First Aid Kits. A firsst Aid Kit, in my humble opinion should be heavy on over the counter mediciness, decent large wound dressings, and other essential Aid items...

One good solution is to buy one of many small basic kits and add to them, these make a great addition!..

Amazing Stuff! - Jason Cain on May 3, 2009

This stuff is amazing!

I received a 2nd degree burn on my hand in an industrial fire. After dousing my hand with water for about 10 minutes there was absolutely no relief. My hand felt like it was still in contact with the molten plastic that caused the injury.

The first aid kit at work had this stuff in it. Although I have heard the advice: "Do not use creams or salves," I was desperate and smeared this gel on.

Within seconds, the pain was GONE. And the redness disappeared within 12 hours.

I now carry it in my personal first aid kit for camping.

Best Burn Cream Ever - Roberta A. Holliday on Dec 12, 2008

If you get this on a burn right away you can get away with no blister. This is the best burn cream Ive ever used.

Really Is Terrific Stuff - D. Jefferys on Aug 12, 2010

Bought this based on the great reviews. I finally had to use it for a minor kitchen burn. Rubbed it over the area, then repeated once more before going to bed. The next morning, there was no indication I had been burned -- no marks, no pain, nothing. Be aware that it is a bit goopy and will stick mildly to stuff once it's on, so consider putting a bandage over the burn (I didn't bother). Everyone should have this in their medicine cabinet, everyday carry pack, bug out bag, car, office, etc. Absolutely recommended. This is a no brainer... get some!

Great Stuff For My First Aid Kit - Dale E. Payne on Sep 24, 2011

Every first aid kit, be it for home, work, or for your automobile should have some of these packets. It doesn't have to be a fire burn to qualify, a sun burn or skinned knee type burn can be cleaned, protected, and made to feel so much better.

Good Product That Works - T. Chiatello "jinx" on Oct 27, 2011

Used this when I got a bit too much sun one day and was impressed with how easy it was to use the product and how well the product worked. I'm olive skinned and tan easily, but had too much sun one day and found my thighs had a pink hue to them I hadn't anticipated.

Used a packet on my legs and never had any pain, peeling or problem.

Will definitely keep these in my first aid kit and my travel kit.

Burn Jel - Babe on Oct 17, 2011

Burn jel is absolutely worth the price. Immediately after a burn it takes away the heat and soothes. I won't hesitiate to purchase again.

First Aid Kit Supplies - Steven R. Lopez on Aug 8, 2011

This and other various items have been purchased to supply a camping first aid kit. Quality seems good and prices are reduced and free shipping with subscribe and save program.

Fabulous - E. Merkt on Jul 8, 2011

If you have never heard of this product, take notice.Pain from burns is relieved immediatly. It almost absorbs right into your skin ,no sticky or gummy residue. Other burn gels can encapsulate the area ,feeling like it is preventing the heat from leaving and left feeling like it's heating up. After a 30+ mile canoe trip down the Little Miami I bought my own supply.Great product!

Pain Relief, No Healing. - elementai on Jul 6, 2011

This product does exactly what product description says - it relieves pain, because it's external analgesic ( Lidocaine HCL 2% ). Remember that you need to help your body to heal too - remove problem source, prevent infection, etc and only then use analgesic.

I've Been Using This For Years - Jack (NMI) Stecker on May 20, 2011

The price has come down considerably since I first got this product. It's amazing. I've sworn by this stuff for years. One of the few times I wowed my step-dad was when he was complaining about the pain of a burn and I suggested this. He was skeptical and as he was a hardheaded type he went on for a while I finally asked if he wanted to try this or keep hurting. He did and almost immediately he got releaf and said ,"wow that stuff works good". For him that was a glowing compliment.

Oh yea it also helps with sting's and itching.

Best Sunburn Cream Ever - Babaganewsh on Sep 14, 2008

The waterjel burn jel is the best sunburn cream I have ever tried.Being as fair as I am I burn very easy and this is the first summer that I have not been in pain. thank you

Awesome !!! - ICWiener on Dec 10, 2011

Pretty much everybody forgot to say in their review, that the reason these things work so fast is cause they got Lidocaine in the them (2%) Lidocaine is a anesthetic, numbs you up. Also these say they are only for minor size burns, not likethe whole arm, just so you know, cause I thought you an put as much as you want.

The Best Burn Jel Available In The Market. - H. Lo on Apr 18, 2011

Use it on minor burn right away, and you won't feel the pain the next day! I've been using this for over 10 years.

It Worked - hoosierglocker on Jan 6, 2012

A friend of mine burned his hand while soldering. I keep this in my FAK in my backpack and offered it to him. He said he was surprised at the amount of immediate relief (he had accidentally grabbed the hot end of the iron while it was still plugged in). The next day he commented that he was surprised at how little effect the burn had made and that he hadn't blistered. He got the name of it and asked me where to buy it because he wanted some for home. That convinced me it works well for minor to moderate burns.

Glad I had the foresight to buy it.

Great Product Fast Acting - Tony/Ohio on Dec 8, 2011

This is the best product for skin burns that I've ever used. Keep it in your first aid kits. This gell works very fast.

Fast Relief! - Dody Bush-Retherford on Nov 5, 2011

I bought one box of these and they came in so handy! We had 25 and we used most fo those in the first 5 months on cooking burns... what can I say...I'm learning. It works so fast, and I have NO scars from the burns. I need to buy some more.

#1 Sunburn Relief - j garr on Sep 5, 2010

Commonly recommended by doctors here in Florida for severe sunburn. And I now see why. If you somehow dont use sun block and you get burned badly, this stops the pain quicker than other products and it protects the skin. Far superior to something like Solarcaine in both the percent of lidocaine it contains and in how it heals the skin and even prevents peeling, when you normally "know" you are going to peel.

Work Great - houutbv86rv on May 15, 2011

I needed to add this to my families portable first aid kit as they didn't come with any and looking at my home kit I saw it was missing too. I got these and they are a nice size not tiny like most first aid supplies. I was able to replenish my portable kits and put the rest in my home kit. They are pricey if you only need it for the home I suggest just buying from your local drug store in a larger size less costly.

They work great and are big enough you don't have to fumble with a bunch of tiny packages to cover a small to medium or even larger area burn. These Def. work Great!

I Eagerly Awaited My First Burn! - Dillon D Barnes on Jan 6, 2011

Who knew a burn from an iron would be so exciting!? I finally had an opportunity to test out this stuff. I first ran my hand under cold water for a brief period of time, and added some Burn Jel. I carefully cut the corner off the package allowing me to run a bead of the Jel along the burn. I didn't realize how well the stuff was working until I accidentally wiped it off and my hand soon began to ache. I reapplied a bead of Jel and the pain quickly dissipated. Maybe a tad expensive, but well worth it after you burn yourself. A great product.

Lin In Florida - Linda Leonard on Sep 16, 2010

I've used this product for the past 10 yrs and am never without it in my kitchen. If you happen to get anything from a minor splatter burn while cooking or a burn while curling your hair it's the first thing to grab. If you use just a little immediately after the burn it will remove all burn pain and there will not be so much as a scar. The trick is Don't wait to use it. It's great for severe sunburns as well, this has been tested by me on my kids in the past and they are fair skinned.

Great Burn Care Product - Douglas "Mechanical on Oct 9, 2010

Rating The Company, Not The Product.. - Skip W. on Nov 3, 2009

While I fortunately have not had to use the product yet, it appears as advertised. I purchased it mainly for emergency use. The shipping was quite prompt and arrived a day or so early. Can't comment much more right now. Everything seems to be fine..
