Editorial Reviews
Cough Suppressant Topical Analgesic
The active ingredients in Vicks VapoRub work naturally through the inhalation of medicated Vicks vapors to relieve coughing due to common cold.
Vicks VapoRub also relieves minor muscle aches and pains.
VapoRub is applied externally, so it doesn't interact with other medications the way pills can.

Consistent Quality Throughout The Years - Nuknuk on Nov 4, 2009

Both my wife and I grew up with our parents giving us a Vicks' rub when we were sick. Now that we have our own kids, we still using the same product. It gives them comfort from seasonal sicknesses. It helps them sleep better when their chest are congested. It also works great to rub it to their feet. Sometimes my wife put dab a little bit of it around her eyes, she says it helps her to sleep :)

I have tried cheaper generics from groceries but they don't work as well. They seem to be less concentrated and not much soothing vapor.

Vicks - B. Triest "BT" on Apr 2, 2009

Have used this product for years, due to sinus cogestion. The only thing that dissapoints me is that Proctor & Gamble manufacture it in Mexico!!
Come on P & G, bring your opperations to the USA>

Helps Me Sleep At Night - Janet Boyer "Author, on Jun 7, 2007

I've used Vicks VapoRub every night for last 30 or so years. Yes, that's right--I've used it since I was a little girl!

Now, when I was little, I put it IN my nostrils (which you're not supposed to do). Now, I just apply it UNDER my nose to help me breathe at night.

Why I've needed it, I hadn't known--until recently. Apparently, I have a slightly deviated septum AND I have non-allergic rhinitis which mimics actual allergies (I test negative for allergies).

So while Sudafed has helped in the past and now, Nasonex, Benadryl and Astelin, I'm still using good ol' Vicks VapoRub to help me get a good night sleep! And the good thing is that these jars seem to last FOREVER. I probably only have to buy it once every year or two!

Of course, VapoRub is also good chest colds and vaporizers--but ya know, I never used it for that, even on my son! (He's rarely sick).
