Great Arch Supports - Mrs. M. "Health Conc on Jun 18, 2010

Place Arch Supports in Hot Water and follow directions. Dry with towel and use towel to bend. Don't touch hot surfaces without s towel and lifting instrument. You may have to return the Arch Supports to hot water and repeat.

Then thoroughly dry. Trim carefully with scissors and use a shoe imprint as a guide.

Do Yourself A Favor -- Buy These - Philip on Nov 11, 2010

An orthopedist recommended Spenco Rx Orthotics to me several years ago when I thought I had plantar fasciitis, and I have been using them regularly since then. (To save money, I would move them from one shoe to another, and bought the recent pair to have the luxury of avoiding that task. The original pair are still fine.) I do not have flat feet, but the firm support that the Spenco arches provide has many positive effects. First, my feet do not hurt, and I can walk long distances. Second, my knees no longer hurt, and I was having great difficulty walking up stairs. Your knees are affected by the way in which your feet touch the ground, and the Spenco arch has made all the difference without any other changes (for example, no knee brace or surgery). Yes, they are more expensive than drugstore arch supports (though the Amazon price was far lower than any other, including eBay). But do yourself a favor and buy the Spenco Rx Orthotics. (P.S. I don't work for Spenco or their advertisers, and I rarely praise a product with so much enthusiasm.)

Podiatrists Prescription - Just a tsp on Nov 30, 2011

My podiatrist requested I use these Inserts. He instructed me to soak them for 3 minutes in boiling water, squeeze out the water as much as possible, and wear for 25 minutes first day, then dry them and increase wear 1 additional hour each day. They work great and feel great. I received them within 24 hours after ordering!

Not Bad, But Not Great - Tommy Xu on Jul 19, 2011

This does offer a great option to custom mold to your foot. It takes a few trials until you get your proper arch shape. These are a decent Over The Counter orthotic, but there are better ones out there (Sole Custom Footbeds, Superfeet, Powerstep, etc).

Squeaky Comfort - WebTech on Mar 15, 2011

I love the way these things feel, the arch support is fantastic. The problem is that they squeak when I walk. They have a hard plastic arch - when that flexes, it creates just enough friction with the bottom of the shoe to make noise. Make that stop and these things are 5 star!

Best Support Ever Found - SimsValleyGirl on Jul 26, 2010

Spenco Orthotic Arch Supports (Full Length) were recommended to me by my doctor several years ago. I have arthritis in my feet and was in pain everyday until I started using these arch supports. I remove the shoe liners and replace them with the arch supports. I have to try the arch supports in the shoes before I buy the shoes to be sure that the liner will come out and that the shoe will fit with the arch support in them. I was surprised how fast the order was shipped and am very happy to find that I can order them and not have to drive 30 miles to the only drug store that I know of near my home to buy them.

Great! - Jenna on Jan 11, 2012

I really like these orthotics. When I found out I needed orthotics to continue running, I also found out that my insurance company couldn't cover it so I obviously had to avoid buying the customized $700 ones. However, I feel that these are just fine even for someone who has "the worth arches [my doctor] has ever seen." They have a hard plastic bottom unlike most other orthotics so you can keep pounding em down when you run. They will last quite a while before you have to replace them, which will be obvious when you push down the plastic arch and see how easy it is for it to bounce back up.

However, the sizing is a little weird; try buying one size bigger than your own and then buying corresponding sized sneakers as well. For example, I'm a 6 1/2 so I have 7-8 orthotics and size 7 sneakers. You're going to need the space with these in.

Outstanding, For Me.... - PJBeee "PJ450" on Jan 2, 2012

I am a 59 year-old male. I didn't read all the reviews here, but many are from people with HIGH arches. I have LOW ("fallen") arches, and these supports are just great. Some folks have said they need bigger (higher) shoes, and yes, that might be necessary for some. In my case, there's room in my shoes to accommodate the supports - of course I removed the original insoles.

When first putting the shoes on after inserting the supports, I felt the arch "bump", but it's such a big help and not a bother. In fact, it feels a bit like a massage - like someone massaging my arches with their thumbs - when I walk; not an uncomfortable feeling at all.

I don't have a normally bad back - everyone has some back pain sometimes, I bet - and I started with very comfortable shoes in the first place. But I can tell you that for me, my feet and back feel better and I can wear my shoes longer without discomfort than before.

I have also used these supports with my dress shoes, which are definitely less comfortable then my casual shoes, and they are a HUGE help there as well.

Good work, Spenco!

Spenco Rx Orthotic Full Length - amazman "boon" on Oct 29, 2011

it is OK, too flimsy does not stay intact as insole come with the sneaker. may be the designer should look at the sample from good sneaker insole.

Well Made But Not Enough Arch Support - T. Jalbert on Oct 22, 2011

this is probably 5th pair i got rom spenco rx products for my parents as both have issues with their feet.. This orthotic version was the first of its kind purchase. It has the characteristics of well made insert from Spenco, this pair meet expectations. It offers a strong heel build, it is not just rubber / foam mix, this has a molded glued plastic portion, gives strenght to heel. But it does not offer much arch support as i am used to seeing in Spenco products. I didnt return it, using it as fresh insert for a pair sneaker.

Great For Flat Fleet With Pronation - D. Liang "Camera Use on Jun 28, 2011

Got a pair for my son who has very flat feet. It causes his ankles to pronate and gives him a lot of pain. These helped immediately, even without custom forming them.

Great Product - cellolady on Jun 27, 2011

Having used Spenco's Arch Cushions for years, it seemed like I needed more support and decided to try their Orthotic. I got the Full Length version, since I needed the cushioning in the front area. They work great -- I will be purchasing more, to put in other shoes, and in my slippers.

A Bakers Dream - happy on Jun 20, 2011

I started a baking job and the 430am-1pm nonstop standing was unbearable.
I bought these insoles which made it less painful. But beware: the product does not prevent layoffs.

A Relaxed Day For My Flat Feet... - Rafael Abril "Dr. R. on May 13, 2011

Whe I first tried them on, I felt and thought they will be hurting at the end of the day. I WAS WRONG. At last, after a lot of walking in that day, my flat feet felt like nothing, relaxed and not tired at all. No pain. I will not mold them because they ar fine as they are. My shoes do feel tighter but this is no problem when you have relaxed feet.

Great For Sneakers. - J. Lin on Apr 29, 2011

It helps my wife's condition. But only when she wears sneakers (or shoes that enclose feet). The thickness of the pads makes feet too high that the feet would slide outside any other casual shoes that have little sides/top area to keep feet inside. We did not realize this limitation before making the purchase (prescribed by her doc).

Finally, Comfortable Insoles For Huge Feet! - Peter on Apr 22, 2011

After trying several types of insoles from several different manufacturers, I finally ordered the Spenco RX Orthotic (full length) and am I glad I did. With my size 15 D shoes, most of the insoles I received were too short and/or too narrow, even when they claimed to be size 14-15. But the RX Orthotics are truly extra large. I even had to trim them a little to fit some of my shoes. They have improved the comfort and support of every pair of hiking boots, casual shoes, and dress shoes I own. I may even try them in my athletic shoes. I highly recommend you try them.

Awesome Support! - John on Mar 30, 2011

This was my first time purchasing a shoe insert and what it promised, it has delivered. These are incredibly comfortable supports with a great arch. I would recommend these to anyone looking for good arch support for flat feet.

Good For Totally Flat Feet...but Still Needs A Little Help - Amazon Junkie on Mar 26, 2011

I've got totally flat feet. No arch whatsoever. I might as well be a duck.
When I finally received my pair....man, what a stink bomb! They REEK! Like a skunk in a burning chemical plant. *Whew!* I banished them to the garage where they could air out.

Then I found my Lysol spray can and gave them a spritz...that helped a lot!

Anyhow, so I put em in my shoes and although they are well arched, they're not arched enough for my duck feet...I needed a little more help....I used a cushioned athletic insole...it doesn't have much of an arch, but it's quite cushy...

And that did the trick!

Usually...I have to wear 4 or 5 insoles...yeah....FOUR of FIVE insoles in my sneakers so I can walk without major pain in my feet.

With these insoles + the cushy insoles...wow. they feel great.

I'm going to buy another pair for my other shoes and have my can of Lysol ready for when they get here. lol

So..that's why 4 stars out of 5...not because of the stink, but because they're not able to be used on their own...

A New Bounce In My Step - Ninjaneer on Mar 10, 2011

vendor mistakenly sent me the 3/4 instead of full length. can't imagine that there would be a significant difference between the lengths other than the full-length providing additional comfort for the toes; and a such think my review of the 3/4 length is applicable. at first i tried to use these instead of the insoles that came with my boots, but wasn't happy. after trying these out on top of the insoles i ended up placing these underneath the insoles--this will probably also help keep the spencos in place. the arch support, for me, are a little low, and i will try to reshape them by heating them up--this is a nice feature. these are worlds' difference from the off-the-shelf models that i've bought from the stores and for the price i don't think i'll ever waste my money on them anymore. yes, you need the first couple of days to get use to them, but i chalk this up to the notion that these are actually correcting whereas the other department stores' product weren't doing anything other than making my shoes softer for the feet. each step has a little more bounce now.

Good But Just A Bit Wide - NJames on Feb 18, 2011

I love the inserts they help my flat feet tremendously! My only issue is they are a bit wide, they are a tight fit in my 12.5 running shoes.

Works Great - feisal "fa" on Jan 23, 2011

This arch support is great if you need a firm orthotic for a weak arch. I showed it to a therapist and she was impressed by the quality. But make sure its recommended by a therapist before you use it as they come in many designs based on your foot problem.

Great Arch Supports - L. Dorr on Jan 22, 2011

I have had a couple pairs of the Spenco arch supports over the past few years. They are much more supportive than most other brands I have tried, and last a very long time. I would highly recommend them.

Excellent Orthodics For Plantar Fasciitis!!!! - Cindy on Jan 9, 2011

I started using these and immediately my foot with plantar fasciitis felt better (I have flat feet). With continued use, my foot has improved immensely. I did have to reshape them to get them narrow enough in the heel to fit into some of my shoes as I have AA width feet. These don't slip forward in my workout shoes like the 3/4 length orthodics. I had been stretching and sleeping with a brace on my leg, which helped some, but these orthotics did the trick!

Spenco Saved My Feet!!! - Moxie on Nov 5, 2010

I own a retail store and I'm always on my feet. Standing on cement floors are a killer. These arch supports have saved my feet and my mind! Between wearing good shoes and the Spenco arch supports.. I can stand for days!! I highly recommend, they are so comfortable!!

Not What I Expected - Jennifer C. Logan "d on Sep 22, 2010

I have bought spenco insoles for years, and these were very different. They were very wide, and not well suited for a woman's shoe. Quality wise I guess they are ok, but the only time I think I'll be able to use them is in my snow boots, and that's not why I bought them.

Better Than Custom! - Frodude on May 1, 2010

I got these after having used the half sized ones for a few years. I got tired of having to move them from shoe to shoe. I think the Spenco brand in general provides much better support at a reasonable price than the $300-per-pair custom orthotic supports I got thru my orthopedic surgeon. I only paid that once and will never again. I'm hooked on these for life!

Just What I Was Looking For! - sparkle17 on Jan 19, 2012

I have worn these Orthotics for many years after being prescribed them from a Podiatrist. They have worked wonders for pain in the balls of my feet, arch pain and pain in my heels. They really help if you need a good arch in your shoe. I wear them in all my shoes. I liked getting them here because they were much cheaper then at the sporting goods store where I usually would get them and the same exact item. Thanks.

Still Experience Arch Pain - liz blue eyes on Jan 16, 2012

These were not what I was hoping they'd be. They're a little better in my sneakers than the insoles that came with the shoes (which are New Balance walking shoes, only a month old or so), but not by much. I still had arch pain within a couple of hours of wearing the shoes, and arch pain isn't something I experience frequently. I trimmed about an inch off of these because they were way too long in my women's 11W shoes. I have moderately flat feet, & average instep & am full-figured. These are better than "nothing", but I have learned my lesson- the important thing is to buy superior (which usually means more expensive) shoes to begin with. Even new orthotics can't make unsupportive shoes feel terrific. As I have only had orthotics once before, I can just say that these were not as good as ones I got years ago at a Lady Foot Locker store (I wish I could remember the brand). If you already have normal arches, these might work great for you. Or if you have great shoes to begin with, but the insoles are starting to go, these also might work fine in that case. Just don't expect miracles!

Just What The Dr. Ordered - Scott D. Davis "Scot on Jan 5, 2012

I'll make this quick. Went to the Doctor with foot pain I had for a long time. He found a neuroma (Morton's). We are doing some other stuff, but he also suggested I get fitted for orthotic inserts in my shoes.

When I found out they were $600 for a cast, fitting, and other work I nearly puked up a hairball! He showed me what they were like, and said what to look for in the over the counter ones.

These fit exactly what he told me to look for. The arch test: Put them flat on a table, push hard on the arch, and see if it collapses. If it does, then don't get it. These pass that test with flying colors, and are about two-percent of the cost of the custom made inserts.

Win!

Great Arch Supports - Robert E. Coughlin on Dec 30, 2011

These arch supports work really well I have been using them for several years. They are the most affordable and fit all my shoes, sneaks, ski boots, work boots, etc.

Best Footbed - reyne roman on Dec 9, 2011

After purchasing several high dollar brand name foot beds, I found Spenco.
After using them a short time on my hunting boots, I found it to be the best feeling and less tiring of the many others that I tried and believe me I tried them all. I do alot of guiding for elk during the fall months and put in many miles per day so my feet are the most important of my anatomy to keep from getting blisters and causing hotspots. I found that this Spenco footbed took care of those issues. I would highly recommend you trying this footbed out over any other brand. Your feet will thank you!!!

Good For The Feet - Gandham on Dec 7, 2011

This is very comfortable and easy to fit in any kind of a shoe and reduces the pain of the arch. I would buy more of these for my other pairs also. Moreover very very cheap when you compare the same product in shops.

Nervous But Now Very GRATEFUL - T. Peterson "tljbcre on Nov 7, 2011

For 17 bucks I thought oh well why not give them a shot. The reviews helped tremendously. I decided to purchase these because I had a trail run coming up and wasn't able to purchase and break in my stability shoes for my overpronation in time. At first glance when they arrived was how could these do anything. Luckily my current shoes had inserts that came out so I didn't lose any room at all. I wear sizes 14 but measure slightly over. There was a little trimming I had to do like other reviews suggested and it was very easy to do. For my situation, I just pulled out my other inserts, sandwiched them together against these and trimmed them with scissors to match. Prior to using these I had been training for my first 5k. My shoes are for neutral or underpronation. Little did I know how much this was effecting my feet and knees. Especially my achilles. After each run during training there was soreness in my achilles. I expected this in the early phases but it persisted after all of my runs. It wasn't until I visited a local shoe store that analyzed my feet did I find out about my mild overpronation. Fast forward to ordering these inserts. I was able to train with them only once before my trail run and what a difference it made. When I first put them on they felt a little strange and made me a little nervous. Just wearing or standing in them took getting used to. They never hurt but seemed to give an ever so slight constant pressure on the arch area of my foot. But when I ran that all seemed to fade away very quickly. It seemed as if these were made rigid enough to somewhat annoy a standing position or slow walk but spot on perfect for a run. After my training run and my trail run I was absolutely amazing how much they made a difference. I had ZERO soreness in my achilles after both runs for the first time. I had been training for 10 weeks prior to that, participated in 2 5k's totaling about 32 total days of 30-35 min runs. I had soreness after all of those prior runs and this was the first 2 times I felt nothing, not only immediately after but the following several days. I am looking forward to my first fully supported shoe but now I am afraid to fix what isn't broken every since buying these inserts. What I do now is take these inserts out for regular out and about wear and use them for my runs. That seems to do the best for me. Good luck. If you are on the fence and are bouncing back and forth between other inserts trying to decide stop, buy these, they work. I am very happy.

Just What The Dr. Recommended - Jane Stabile on Sep 15, 2011

Spenco full length orthotic inserts last for years, can be hand washed and dry overnight and keep my flat feet from hurting.

Just Better Than The Rest - lunalumen on Jun 24, 2011

Much more comfortable than other insoles right out of the box. A much more refined product than Superfeet and simply more comfortable and a much better price (on Amazon of course!). I overpronate and I found these to provide immediate relief. I prefer to go barefoot, but when shoes are required, particularly during activities like brush-cutting (moderately paced walking for many hours) these insoles keep me from regretting it later. I'm ordering more for my other shoes.

Spenco Full Insoles - peb456 on May 9, 2011

Honestly I can't believe I waited until I was 55 to visit my foot doctor who recommended these. I even have more energy at days end. WOW

Great! - Dione J. Souza "Djs0 on Apr 11, 2011

These came with the perfect amount of arch support I have been looking for!! So I didnt have the need to heat and mold the arch. They felt so good, I immediately ordered a second pair.

Super Buy! - Rhinin on Feb 10, 2011

I have been wearing these for years, and could not believe the price when I saw it. You will not find a better deal on these full size orthotics anywhere. FYI - these cured my plantar fasciaitis, er whatever!
