That Relief You Have Been Seeking! - Malina Rome "Rome Re on Sep 15, 2009

I was diagnosed with a chronic pain condition called Myofascial Pain Syndrome this past year. Because of a surgery I had a year ago I am unable to take any type of pain medications outside of Tylenol or narcotics. Physicial therapy was not working for my pain condition at all...in fact the therapist stopped seeing me because I was making no improvement. Trigger point therapy at the massage parlor was providing some occassional relief but at $[...] a pop not only was it expensive and not covered by insurance but if I did not do it every day then it wasn't as effective as I would like. Anyone who has this condition knows how painful it can be and how difficult it is to treat. Feeling desperate and hopeless I started searching what others with MPS were doing and this is when I stumbled upon the Backnobber II.

This thing is fantastic! Everyone I have ever let use it has enjoyed it...one woman described it as "the best thing to ever happen to me in my life." Since using it I go to the massage parlor a lot less for the trigger therapy treatments. My migraines have all but disappeared and my medication usage has gone down.

This item is very lightweight and requires almost no strength to provide the pressure/leverage needed for relief which is important because a lot of times I haven't the strength. All you do is place one of the small knobs on your sore muscle or where you have a trigger point or knot and pull down or forward. The tightness you feel just releases and then the pain goes away with it. It is very easy to use and best of all to use without any assistance in nearly any position, ie. lying down, sitting up, standing. For my shoulder and neck area this is amazing but I can also do so many other areas of the body. There isn't a spot on my back that the Backnobber II does not reach.
The product comes with a small book full of ideas of how to use the item and on various areas of the body. I was getting spasms in the bottom of my foot in the arch and I just disconnected the two pieces and took the small S and applied the pressure to my foot. Such pleasure! I can use the small end in the tissues of my neck unlike some similar products without fear of damage to the neck and this is a big part of what has taken my migraines away. Also, the book showed me that sometimes you can get knots in your armpits which can cause pain in other areas of the body...guess what, I tried it and surely I did have knots in my armpits and it helped with pain in my arms and back.

I would recommend this to anyone who has small aches and pains to someone with an extremely painful & chronic condition like mine. If it were not for this item I am not sure what I would do. My primary care physician, physical therapist nor my spine specialist knew of this item. I made them all try it too and now everyone I know is looking to buy one or recommend them to someone else. I am going to get one for my 70 year old mother-in-law as well as a woman I know suffering from breast cancer because even though they are both weak they will be able to operate this item. You won't truly know till you buy it but at less than the cost of a massage what have you to lose, especially since Amazon will let you return the item if you are not satisfied.

Back Knobber II Vs Theracane - Relax Today on Mar 23, 2009

I have had both the Theracane and the Original Back Knobber II for several months. Both are well made and similar in price. I bought them to try to reduce my chiropractic visits and to be more in charge of my back and neck issues.

The instructions pamphlet with the Back Knobber is a a little more complete. The device itself is easier for me to use. I can get better leverage. I like the way it comes apart for travel--I keep it at work where co-workers borrow it. The Theracane is also decent--the side knobs make for a more stable and gentle application to neck pressure points.

I figure I have already saved enough on chiropractic visits to pay for them both. Applying self pressure only works effectively with a tool such as either of these. I use the one at work when listening during an e-meeting, and the one at home during the evening news. Use of the devices is most effective during a regular relaxation time. I have also become very aware of my posture and am improving that so bad habits stop contributing to knots.

Great For Light Back Muscle Massaging - angelo raso on Jun 5, 2011

This device works fine for reaching those hard to access parts of your back. Using it is simple, and if you are looking to mildy massage some stiff back muscles it does a great job. But if you apply just a little too much pressure while you are trying loosen up with some deeper massaging or pressure, then this device is apparently not engineered to handle such use. It snaps, breaking in half. It comes in two segments to begin with, and has an ok connection joint. The problem appears to be that all of the pressure gets transferred into the plastic curve, which only has a marginal limit of elasticity. The hard plastic cannot flex under too much pressure, and so it snaps.
At first I thought perhaps I had a defective unit. So, I decided to put out another $30, and buy another. It works great if it doesn't break. But, soon after, it too snapped. Now I'm out $60. Maybe I should have bought two to begin with and duct taped them together as one heavy duty unit. That might help.

Great Product - V. Kisby on Mar 26, 2010

I first discovered the back knobber when I was in massage therapy school. One of the fellow students had it and lent it to me. I was amazed how using such little effort created such a strong impact on my back. I loved that I could finally massage my own back and work out my own knots. I'm the only one who can feel inside my body, and using this makes it possible to be my own massage therapist. Love this product. :)

Does The Job - R. Sleppy "slepster" on Sep 13, 2009

This is my second Backnobber II, so I'm sold on it. My first one cracked after I apparently put too much pressure on it one too many times, so be aware that you need to not over work it.

It really helps you dig into those nasty knots and loosen up the trigger points.

Also, it collapses into two pieces, so it fits nicely into your suitcase or backpack so you can take it both on the road and to work.

If you have a back filled with knots on a regular basis, I recommend you check this out.

Crazy Good - kittykatty on May 2, 2011

I was recommended this product by a dr I was seeing when I told him I take advil everyday for neck and back pain. I ordered the Backnobber and was kinda scared when I first saw it. I took it to work with me (i'm a dental hygienist and see about 12 pts per day) and now I can't get it away from my co-workers. We have posted a time schedule in the back so everyone gets equal use !! haha
Its crazy good!!

Is It Too Soon? - Alexandra Davis "man on May 11, 2010

Admittedly, it's a new relationship. I mean, we've been together only a few short weeks, but I think The Original Backnobber II is the one. Pretty much, if I could marry it (for the back pain relief it's given me) I would. It only got 4 stars because I've only used it a couple of times, but I see bright things in our future. Like less tension and aching in my upper-middle back. And for that, I declare it love.

Product Was Good But... - S. Brown on Feb 24, 2010

I enjoy the product every day. It replaced my shorter, flimsier massager which I bought for a dollar. Yes, this is more expensive but well worth the price! Yes it's bulky, but that is the reason for being great.

One complaint was that I ordered a blue one but got a purple instead. i think the person who packed it was colorblind...

BACKNOBBER II - AN ABSOLUTE LIFESAVER!!! - Holly Revait "Lifeti on Jul 6, 2009

I have suffered from Myofascial pain syndrome for the past year & a half. I have tried everything under the sun to get rid of this pain. From massage therapy to physiotherapy to yoga....you name it, I've tried it. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that The BK II got rid of my myofascial pain syndrome in ONE WEEK!!!

This self help tool is an absolute lifesaver. If you have any muscle related problems including your neck, back, legs, thighs, you will not be sorry when you spend $30.00 lousy dollars on this incredible device.

It also separates into two pieces for easy storage & easy traveling.

I take this device with me to work everyday & have had many, many of my co-workers and friends order a BACKNOBBER II for themselves.

I have provided every doctor, nurse, & specialist that I have come in contact with, with the BACKNOBBER II website & telephone number, so they in turn may provide some relief to future clients in need.

I can't say enough positive things about this self help tool.

Don't delay & order one today!!

An extremely satisfied & loyal customer for LIFE,

Holly Sinclair

Backnobber II - H. Sperry on Feb 28, 2009

The Backnobber II is really great. I have a hard to reach "knot" on my lower right back, and this handy tool can reach the knot and gently work it around. Be careful how long and how much you use this, however. The first couple days I used it so much I bruised the heck out of myself. Easy does it.

Love It! - L. Lake on Jan 13, 2009

I love the Backnobber. It doesn't replace a deep tissue massage, but it gets the knots out of my back. It is great to be able to reach the exact spot that is bothering me. I've found that it works best when you lay on the floor and put just a little more pressure than is comfortable and hold it for several seconds. My muscles loosen up quickly!

Wonderful Product, Durable, Great Amazon Price - Dustin R. on Apr 5, 2010

This product works exactly as advertised and is a great value for back pain relief. Obviously, this is a temporary relief item and lasting effects would require medical intervention. However; this is great for minor aches and pains associated with sports, weight lifting, etc. It provides great and easily variating pressure on any spot on your back and can work out knots very easily. Very durable product, easily collapsible for a sports bag. Would buy again and recommend to others.

It's Worth It - Catalyst "Lynn" on Mar 12, 2010

I had some back pain which was helped by massage. I use this in addition to massage to be able to get to the hard-to-reach trigger points. The size was also ideal. If one size isn't right, flip it over and use the other. I'd definitely recommend it.

Great Tool For Stress Relief - Pamela S. Ledden "La on Jan 26, 2010

The backnobber II is a wonderful tool for working kinks and knots out of your muscles. I am a massage therapist and I recommend the Backnobber to everyone. The price is great, too.

Great Alternative To A Massage - Lauren M. Burke on Nov 3, 2009

Backnobber applies pressure to knots and tight spots to release tightness. Great alternative to an expensive and time consuming massage. Easy to store, comes in several colors, and provides quick efficient relief to a common back pain.

So Good - Josiah on Nov 2, 2009

I used this one day at a surfers house, and it feels so good on your back. It makes you that good sore, and lowers your eyes with relaxation. really really really good. Love it. Hey buy it if you want to massage yourself with minimal effort, or don't and spend time with knots instead.

Good Deal - Keith Walker on Aug 24, 2009

This product does exactly what you think it will do. Get knots out of your back. You can get the ones that are so big and deep and hard that the masseuse can't get them out. It got all the knots out of my upper back it took time to keep applying pressure but it is easy to use a great product.

Love It! - Redtail on Aug 4, 2009

This thing works great! It gets deep into the knots in your back & neck without straining your wrists or fatiguing your forearm.

Awesome - Gerald Nanne on Apr 27, 2009

This product is great. I am a Chiropractic physician and I recommend these to all patients especially ones with trigger points in the hard to reach upper back muscles.

Does The Job - C. Rawlings on Dec 12, 2008

I've had chronic left upper shoulder area pain for about 4 years. I think it's from sitting at a computer and tensing up because I'm always cold. Been to the doctor a few times and they don't know what to do except recommend physical therapy. So I finally went which was a huge waste of time and money. So I just started to make my boyfriend literally pound on the areas that hurt and dig really hard but it was hurting his poor thumbs and fingers. So I did research and found the backnobber and now I can knead out these knots as hard as I want to on my own! It's not curing the issue but relieving it and I guess that is all I can ask for. My only complaint is that it's not made for small people with little ribcages because I can't do a lot of the "moves" you're supposed to be able to do with it making it a little awkward for me to actually use it. Have to use two hands.

Awesome Product!!! - Chad Davies on Sep 23, 2008

I love this product!!! I have had a couple of different versions of the electrical massagers and they don't hold a candle to this simple, but very effective product. It is incredibly simple to use for anyone and does a fantastic job of relieving upper back and neck tension and spasms. I keep it in my office at work and my co-workers come and borrow it all the time. I am seriously thinking about buying this for my whole family for Christmas. Do not hesitate, buy it now.

Grateful I Found This! - R. Haugh on Aug 30, 2008

My daughter had an Original Backnobber II when I visited her this summer, and I tried hers. Found it really helped me, so I ordered one, and was very happy with the prompt shipping and response time. I definitely recommend anyone with high stress levels to give one a try, and it can be taken apart, so it takes up very little space at home or traveling.

This Thing Is Great! - JenniSeattle on Apr 27, 2011

My friend brought hers over to my house one night. I actually made fun of her. She told me she uses it for an hour at a time and it feels great. I made fun of her some more. I started using it while we were watching a movie. Before I knew it, we were literally fighting over it...its an amazing invention...great substitution for an expensive massage. Honestly, I'd prefer a massage but it feels great using it when my shoulders get tight from stress. I now have one and bought one as a gift for another friend.

Perfect For The Job - Indigo90 on Apr 21, 2011

This is a simple, well designed tool. It's very solid, clicks together easily and doesn't wiggle once joined. Then it comes apart easily and travels well. It's smooth and comfortable on my skin. It's easy to get just the right leverage, angle and pressure for any knot I've tried it on - mostly on my neck and shoulders. I love it.

Innovative Back Massager - Marro on Apr 20, 2011

This device is quite clever in design and assists those with poor arm movements in massaging behind them, in hard to reach places. Will not suit everyone (particularly those looking for a back scratcher, which it is not!) but does do what it says very well.

Construction is sturdy and when the two halves are snapped together, it is a solid single device.

What A Relief!!!! - sue on Mar 28, 2011

I was in a car accident and had been seeing a chiropractor for 2 months for headache, neck, back and arm/hand pain. I would get relief for a day or two after an adjustment and then the pain was back. Within a week after starting the backnobber, my headaches were mostly gone and a huge improvement for everything else. I have since started to see a physical therapist and that with the backnobber seems to be the best treatment. Would definitely recommend The Trigger Point Therapy workbook to go with it. A great combo!

His Favorite Gift - Researcher/Filmmaker on Feb 23, 2011

My husband loved this more than all the expensive toys I got him for Christmas. He still raves about it. It is pretty cool. Amazingly simple design but great at loosening up knots and pounding out the muscles up and down your back and neck. It can reach anywhere

Finally, Something For My Back Knots! - LeMon Tree on Dec 27, 2010

Bottom line: This cleverly designed device WORKS! I see a licensed massage therapist on a regular basis, but my stress at work & from the computer continues to knot my muscles up at a faster rate than my massage therapist can get rid of them. The only way my sinuses drain is when my knots get worked on, so I am only "clear" after a massage & for about a week later. Now, I finally can have clear sinuses every day! I have been using this daily since it arrived in the mail last week and my sinuses are clear! If you are on the border of whether or not to purchase this, cause if you are like me, you think the price of $30 for a molded piece of plastic is too high, which it is, but with all the positive reviews (and I am so glad people took the time to review since that is what helped me make the decision to buy it)I figured sinus relief for a one time shot of $30 has got to be worth it. This device is more incredible than I ever imagained. I am in my mid forties and have been suffering from back knots for about 5 years..I wish I had known about this a long time ago. It allows you to be in complete control, you use whatever pressure you want and work out any area you want. One end has a larger opening than the other, so it allows you to work further down your back. The shorter S end allows you to easily work your upper back. This device is so easy to use either sitting or laying down. I am very glad I purchased this and have shown others...now they want to buy one too!

Aaaaahhhhhhhhh! Relief! - SJ Sellers "Smintie on Dec 6, 2010

I've had my backnobber for about 4 weeks and I already feel as if I can't live without it. I develop knots between my shoulder blades and my spine from stress. Aside from a long vacation, the backnobber is the number one remedy for these knots. The S shape allows me to apply just the right pressure to my painful trigger points very easily (using fulcrum pressure). After just a few minutes, I feel like a new person. I use it in the evenings while I visit on the phone with family or watch the news. And this may sound odd but it's FUN! Love love love it.

Same As Used In Physical Therapy - R. Lams "fromscratch on Aug 9, 2010

They used this same item on me in physical therapy for temporary relief and it works well. This is less expensive than the one available in the hospital and is a good deal. I used this for shoulder muscle pain.

Sleep Saver - oldenuf on Aug 1, 2010

I've owned this product for several years and recently purchased others as gifts for friends "of a certain age". It's impossible to find someone to give a back massage at midnight after a day in the garden or intense cleaning, when every muscle aches and sleep just won't happen. The Backnobber II is the solution. Not only can you adjust the intensity of the massage, the Backnobber II has a precision beyond that of electronic massaging units I've tried. It is designed with a release button to allow the two parts that form the "S" shape to come apart for easy storage in a suitcase or tote bag. I recommend it highly for the long-distance traveler and road warrior. Best yet, it has no cords and only requires calories to operate. Tip: This tool will move more easily over the sore area if you are clothed, use a sheet, or use some type of body oil.

The Backknobber Rocks - Tara S. Mccraw on Jul 26, 2010

Love it, love it, love it.....buy one, buy one, buy one....you definitely won't be disappointed - only your massage therapist will as the appointments may dwindle. Have bought for those I love......

Relief At Last - Koalabear1227 on Jul 6, 2010

After a car accident I had gotten several rounds of trigger injections when one of the doctors showed me theirs. I immediately felt relief when I tried it out. Went home and ordered mine immediately. I never leave home without it!

Does The Job - a trainer on May 26, 2010

There's no end to the shapes people are coming up with for these massager back tools. I like the Backnobber specifically for the back and neck areas. Why? You can get more "pull" with it and thus exert more pressure on a spot located in the back areas. This is mainly due to its "S" shaped construction which allows me to pull with both arms if needed. For me, more pressure = more relief. But this is just me. When it comes right down to it, its a matter of preference.

Great For Computer Users - Hurts So Good - Drew D. Clayton on Mar 24, 2010

At least three people in my office have a backnobber. We all sit at computers all day, most people with terrible posture: slumped over, head forward, arched-shoulders. Everyone borrows these to get out the knots in our shoulders and backs.

The knob can be a little slippery, but if you angle the S a little differently, getting different leverage, it's amazing how with very little exertion on your part the tool digs right into trouble spots. Just keep working the tool at slightly different angles, and you get the effect of an awesome pressure-point massage.

You can have it gentle, but if you make the leverage really work for you, it can give you a deep-tissue massage that will make you cry -- in a good way.
