Bags
The Volcano is a bag system, and even though this has a bag system, this is definitely the weak part of the Arizer. The Volcano bag system has an autoseal mouth, so when you're not inhaling from the bag, it seals automatically. I use to fill a bag up, and sit down with it and smoke it over a 10-15min period. With the Arizer, this is less enjoyable because the smoke escapes the bag when not in use (or when you're not sealing the tip with your finger).
Filling the bag with the Arizer is more troublesome as well. With the Volcano, you sit the bowl in the Volcano, let it run for 5 secs or so so that the herb warms up and starts releasing the vapor, then connect the bag in so you get more smoke and less air. Unfortunately with the Arizer, you attach the bag to the bowl, and then put it into the vaporizer, and then turn it on. This can be a problem because it can take 10sec or more for the vapors to be released, and in that time your bag is filling up with nothing but air.
Bowl
The problem comes down to the bowl, the little thing where you put the herb in. With the Volcano, the bowl is a hard piece of plastic and metal, and with a large enough diameter that whatever you put in there, won't stick together when heated and then cooled. The bowl also attaches the bag to it much easier and is just a far better bag experience than the Arizer.
The Arizer bowl is tall and narrow, like a tube. This means that when you put your herbs and and heat it, then when it cools, all the herb in there stick together, so that you have to use the glass stir rod they provide to stir it between each use. This wouldn't be so much of a problem if the glass bowl/tube didn't get so darn hot. Not only that, but the mesh that goes into the bowl is very loose, so half the time when i stir it, the mesh tips and all the herbs dump through to the other side.
As a baggy system, the Arizer is a failure (at least compared to the Volcano).
The Whip
Where the Arizer shines, and is why i prefer using the Arizer over the Volcano, is in the plastic hose/whip that comes with it. This whip attaches to the bowl, and what i do, is just turn on the Arizer for about 5-10sec, or when visible smoke starts coming out of it, then i inhale out of it like a hookah. I don't have to waste bags (because eventually the bags get so stank with smoke and other junk that inhaling it is disgusting), and it's just more convenient for me to turn it on, inhale out of it, then turn it off.
However awesome this method is, it's still far from perfect due to the bowl, because like mentioned earlier, you have to stir the content nearly after every use, and it's infuriating how careful i am in stiring it, that i still often tip the mesh and herb fall through and get ruined (and if it falls into the Arizer, i can't imagine it would be good for the device).
If they could somehow create a Volcano type bowl for the Arizer, one that can still use the whip, this would be the perfect device. The glass and stainless steel gives the Arizer an almost medical look to it (which is great!).
So for me, the Arizer is better than the Volcano. Mostly because i am cheap, and because i like the whip. But as for recommendations for others, i've always recommended the Volcano. It's just a far simpler device, and for people with medical conditions or who i know will get frustrated with the Arizer's bowl system, the Volcano is what i recommend.
Another thing they could do is add more whips to the Arizer, because it's disgusting sharing the whip with others.
One warning: The extreme uses the strongest top quality glass available so the vapor never comes in contact with plastic, teflon, wood, aluminum or other metals which can give off harmful toxins or bad taste. The glass keeps the vapor tasty but be careful because even the strongest glass can break and glass is not covered by the warranty. I knocked mine off a table and broke the glass heater cover. It is possible to return the whole unit for repair at a cost of $40 (which covers the repair and return shipping) or you can purchse the glass heater cover for $25 and repair it yourself (which I did but it wasn't easy). All the other glass parts are external and easily replaced.
If you are careful with the glass, you won't find a better value
Great Unit, four minor problems, VERY MINOR
1. Bottom portion, of the main bowl, way too hot to handle. New handler may get hurt.
2. The 90 degree glass elbow, inserted into the top of the main bowl, has a small metal screen which clogs up. Frequent deep cleaning a must for best results. Easy to clean w/Rubbing alcohol
3. Unit needs a heavier base( being real picky)
4. So many options require several parts. You won't mind but safe storage is a must for all the glass parts.
You will not get bored with this unit. So many choices and all work
to perfection. Remote is a must, don't lose it, it's that good.
Unit is ready for use in a matter of a few minutes(2).
Recommended temp: 240 w/ Fan 1...stir the bowl after 5 hits
Buy it you won't be dissappointed, no need to save up for a Volcano, ohh and I was so hesistant about picking this up vs. the Cano' no regrets, I love this product!!!!

I would purchase this vaporizer again if anything bad ever happens to mine for the following reason. High quality metal/glass components, mass of features including very handy remote, very efficient design and most importantly alot of fun to use!

I have been using herb for about 5 years now. I've been around pipes, bubblers, bongs, you name it. I've gotten a chance to try both the Buddha and the digital Volcano. I hated the Buddha, I thought it was a rip-off. You can thumb me down but that's just how I feel. It's poorly made and for the price tag of $200, you're just laughing at the customer. The Volcano is nice but it's missing something very cool that you get with the Arizer, a Remote Control! You can set this by your couch, have the remote in your hand, boom, turn it on. Boom, set the temprature, boom, if you like baggies, then set your baggy up, if you want to take pipe hits, set your pipe up and enjoy.
Design:
The device is very simple, it is elegantly polished and uses VERY good material. The encasing is metal while the base and buttons are high quality molded plastic. I'm talking HIGH QUALITY. This device does not look cheap at all. The photograph does it no justice.
The LED display is revised from the original Q. It is much more modern, cleaner interface and brighter in general. Contains a FOOL-PROOF GUI for everything you need. Temp, fan, timer, sound, brightness, base LED, beautiful over all device.
You also have 3 red LED's that relate to fan speed, timer and heat thermostat.
Accessories:
Want to burn flowers? Oils? Candles? You got the piece for it..
Want to smoke tobacco while watching tv, healthy without the excess chemicals and carcinogens that come with burning the herb? You have 3 ways to do it. Fill the vapor in a bag, automatically with a 3 speed fan, or, insert a pipe and inhale, OR let the aroma fill up the room with the big neck piece.
Cleaning:
If you want to not worry about buying filters all the time, you simply dip your screens in a little coke cap and fill it with 90% isopropyl alcohol. Let it sit for 2 hours and shake it up every 15 minutes. Then simply run the screen under water faucet upside down for 30 seconds. All clean, as new. This way you will never have to buy replacement parts. And with the glass pieces that you have. You will only have to change the plastic piping every 3+ years.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- Unbelievable bang/buck.
- Parts are heavy duty, made to last.
- Button for everything, light, sound, fan speed, temprature..
- Comes with all the parts anyone would need. Very customizable, durable and made to work with just about any sealed bag.
Cons:
- It doesn't make me dinner.
I honestly hope to everyone who reads this to strongly pick this up while its still at $160. There is nothing better than this. Simply put. If you want to enjoy herb without damaging your lungs, this is the righteous path. Steer away from paying $600 for a "heater". That's all the volcano is. We've opened it up and looked inside. They both have the same technology. Matter of fact I believe Arizer was a bit smarter in their air pump placement and type.
Maybe I'm easily impressed? I don't know. But until Volcano comes with a remote, this thing is the winner in my book.
Besides the fact it is just plain awesome, it is way more efficient with whatever you vaporize and generally stronger effects/taste. It has a sleep timer, the ability to switch between C` or F` (to higher temps than other vapes), several extra pieces (all of which are easy to clean if need be; drop them in a zip-lock with some isopropyl alcohol for a bit), different methods of use (hose, bag, and bowl for potpourri), 3 fan speeds, oh... and a remote. That's right... a remote. Just in case it wasn't awesome enough.
Anyway, well worth the money if you have use for a vaporizer! :3
The V tower is well designed and well made. It is easy to use, once you get the hang of it. I thought that I would like to use the whip to get the vapor directly, but the bag method is a more liesurely and enjoyable way to go.
I have found that a temperature of 240c and a fan setting of 1 is optimal. One bag full of vapors is ample for 2 people. The effect of the vapors is clean and direct.
I did a fair amount of research before selecting the Arizer, and I am glad I did. I strongly recommend it.
PS, a chamber included to vaporize herbs or other aromatic materials... works great for hiding any lingering smells :) just set the timer to half an hour and let her run!
Maintain....would buy again! Easy to operate... Best item ever!
Just as good as the high priced ones...
Otherwise, this thing is great.
i give the vaporizer a 5 star rating not because it is perfect but because i love it. what i dont necesarily like about it is that it has alot of parts and pieces that are fragile and easy to loose. at this point one of the elbows has been broken along with the stir stick and my power cord got lost. i replaced the power cord with one that i had laying around my house and i replaced the stir stick with a piece of wire and i have survived with only one elbow.
now to the good parts of the machine! i love the fact that i can just enter the appropiate temperature and see it on the screen. i also love the fact that all of the controlls are easily laed out on the remote controll. i love the ability to use both the whip and the bag. a problem i have witht the whip is i usually suck the herb up into the screen where it gets vaped rather than it staying in the bowl to get vaped so i prefer the bag. the bags it comes with are great i usually fill my bags on fan speed three at 175-185 celcius depending on my mood(it can display farenheight but thre preset temps on the remote are in C). and i usually fill the just covering the bottom which is usually enough for just my and my bro. but if you have more people or are in a festive mood if you fill the bowl up about a third of the way it will give you lovely milky bags (do not worry this is not smoke! it is just thick vapor, it never smells and never sets off smoke detectors). the vapor is much easier on the lungs than smoke but it can occasionally induce a bit of coughing but nothing like smoke (if you dont cough when you smoke the vape will feel no diferent than normal air). after a while the bags became a bit stinky and i didnt want to order new ones because i am kinda cheap so i replaced them with renoylds oven bags in the turkey size. the material is quite similar but the increased size makes the bags hold alot more vapor. personally i can handle about one bag before i forget altogeather that i am vaping, so dont take it alone!
once you get used to setting up the vape and using it it is second nature and the complexity of it fades away after the first use. but for your first use i recomend frst grinding your herb filling the bowl about a third of the way to the black rubber coating setting it on 185 celcius attaching your bag and setting it on fan speed 3 and you wont be dissapointed.
this vape is most definatly the best i have used and is a fantastic value made in canada and will definatly save on herb costs (i would say it is about three time more efficient than smoking)you definatly will not regret buying it.
in short: great vaporizer, good price, so-so assembly.
