STURDY AND RELIABLE - Dennis "BigD" on Jan 14, 2009

I tried a couple other CHEAPER pill reminders, all but failed over time. I like that fact it takes regular cheap AA Alkaline batteries than specialty batteries. Variable alarm/beep (4) settings or no alarm. Flip the Volume button for louder if you prefer. Normal setting was plenty LOUD for me. :) The female voice is an added bonus...hehe. She reminds me and then keeps on reminding UNTIL I TAKE THE PILLS, click it once, then she tells me my next Pill reminder Alarm/Time if set. The Screen lights up for low room lighting-schweet! Dropped it like 10 times since having a nervous condition and IT WORKED JUST FINE!

Wonderful Little Clock - Mary on Oct 4, 2009

I purchased this little clock for my 85 year old mother who was getting confused about whether it was night or day and sometimes forgetting to take her pills or forgetting that she had taken them and taking them again. Sometimes she'd take her morning pills at night or the night pills in the morning. This little clock has been very helpful. If she gets confused about whether it's a.m. or p.m. she pushes the green button and it verbally tells her "Good morning, it's 10:00 a.m." or "Good afternoon, it's 2:30 p.m." I've set alarms to go off when she is supposed to take her medications so it reminds her to take her morning pills or her evening pills. This has helped her to continue living independently.

Wonderful Timesaver - Flyergirl on Apr 15, 2009

the colors are primary bright the talkign alarm even on low is rather loud and it is a lifesaver for reminding to tke meds. we call her NAGGIE here because if we forget, she nags ntil you shut her up. best think for taking care of a hospice patient.

Great For Early Stage Dementia - Willa on Dec 24, 2008

My 90-year old mother didn't take to it right away, but we worked with it together, and she was finally able to use it independently and accurately. It pleased her that she could remove my burden of having to be at her home three times a day for medication dosing. My only criticism is that the cost makes it prohibitive for many people. Medicare SHOULD cover it, but I guess that would just make too much sense!

Perfect - L. Wilson on Dec 11, 2009

My 82 year old mother with Altzhimers hasn't missed a dose since we got this wonderful reminder!

Doing The Trick - Jill E on Sep 12, 2009

I ordered three different products to help my mom remember to take her meds. This was the most user friendly for her after I set up the times... I don't think she could have done that for herself.

Problem-solver - Marymac on Nov 8, 2009

Our 84-year-old mother was eager to be back in her own home after surgery. But one of the things making my sister and me uneasy was that Mom kept forgetting to take a new med that had been prescribed for her. It needed to be taken at a different time of day than her other meds, and she just couldn't seem to remember it.

We got her a Medcenter talking alarm, and that's helped tremendously. She likes the pleasant voice reminder, and we feel much more confident that Mom's taking her meds when she should. And that's crucial to her maintaining her independence.

Medication Reminder - John R. Hill on Jun 21, 2009

The Medcenter Talking Alarm Clock & Medication Reminder with voice cues is an exceptional device at a reasonable price. It allows for four voice announcements or audio alarms. I would suggest, however, that selection of the individual alarm settings be simplified or better explained in the instruction manual. With a little fiddling, I was able to get the three times that I use set and the fourth time turned off. All in all, a very useful product.

Talking Medbox - J. Berlin on May 5, 2009

This was a product for my father-in-law to help him remember to take his pills twice a day as well as tell him the day and the time since he always needs to know those things. It is doing a good job and he hasn't missed any doses, although he is tired of her voice because it won't stop speaking until he gets up and turns her off.

Five Stats - Dennis P. Gordon on Dec 27, 2008

This product is a bit dicey to set up but it doesn what it is supposed to.

Gave Dad A Little More Independence - LittleRedHen on Sep 1, 2011

I got this for my dad about a year ago because he was having difficulty remembering to take his medications and was getting very annoyed with me for calling to remind him 3 times a day.
He hated it. Claimed the voice and reminder were worse than me!
However, yesterday he called to let me know that the batteries had died and though he had replaced them, he needed me to reprogram it -- and he wanted it done right away. Turns out he actually loves this little reminder, he just didn't want to say so.
Since getting this for my dad his health has improved. Taking his medications in a consistent manner improves their effectiveness greatly and gives me a lot of peace of mind.
The clock is reliable, easy to read even with impaired eyesight, and, when turned up high, easily audible two rooms away even for the hard-of-hearing. It also provides a nice reminder of what the date is and the day of the week for people who may not get out much and whose memories may not be what they used to be.
I wouldn't want to do without this clock.

Really Has Helped My Mom - V. Seward on Sep 26, 2009

This product works well for anyone who has to take multiple pills, multiple times throughout the day. My mom loves the big numbers and the clear voice. She sometimes loses track of time, so this machine just gives her that extra boost to keep on schedule. It's nice that 4 alarms can be programmed, while you can turn some off and leave some on.
It would be nice if it had maybe 1 or 2 more alarm settings (it has 4). It takes a bit of practice figuring out how to set the 4 alarms with "Alarm Set" and a "+" and "-" option, but I figured it out.
Overall it's a very handy product!

Memory Or Sight Loss - Horserider "Horserid on Sep 17, 2010

I purchased this clock along with one that looks very similar, but has a power supply to it.Your. Minder Personal Alarm Clock With Power Supply - Record up to (6) of Your OWN Alarm Messages I wasn't able to record voice alarms with this particular clock which is what I really needed for my 92 year old grandfather with dementia. Instead, it allows you to create several alarms to remind you to take your pills. The clock has a lady voice that says it's time to take your pills. The other clock that I mention goes a step further and allows you to create your OWN voice recordings, so if you need to be reminded of pills and a different activity, you have the option to record whatever for your reminder. If you only need a pill reminder and you don't mind a battery clock, then I highly recommend this clock. If you prefer a power supply and the ability to record your own messages (up to 6), then check out the related clock that I marked in this message above.

MedCenter Talking Alarm Clock - SHIRLEY NELSON on Apr 13, 2010

This was very useful to my elderly Mother, who had somewhat of a problem using a daily pillbox, because of one med. needing to be taken every 6 hours. It would be helpful to have handle on top, because when picking it up, it's easy to push one of the menu buttons on the back in error, canceling the alarm settings.

Great Product - N in Spokane on Aug 11, 2009

This alarm was a lifesaver for my dad who is suffering from dementia and could not manage a pill box since he didn't always know what day or time it was. This has saved me from calling him and telling him to take his medicine several times today. Great deal and works well.

Inexpensive, Loud, Flexible - Terrybfla on Oct 19, 2010

Bought this for my father who was spotty at taking his meds (2x per day) and would often take the wrong day or even the wrong med set (take morning pills at night). This little alarm solved the issue. I tried other options - programming PC to go off, setting cell phone alarms, etc - but none were simple, reliable and targeted to the problem. We had even considered hiring a caregiver to "drop in" and make sure he took his meds. This little alarm filled the bill for us.

First, it has 4 alarms that are all flexible. You can use 1,2,3 or all 4. All 4 can be set at any time you desire. We only use 2 (morning and bedtime).

Second, it is loud. We have it set to "Loud" (vs EXTRA LOUD) and it can be heard from anywhere in the 2BR apartment. Not annoying loud...but loud enough.

Third, it is reliable. With 2 AA battery power, it never resets with a power surge. Don't know how long the batteries will last, but I would assume they last a pretty long time if the alarm is silenced quickly.

Other: Dad was also having problems keeping track of the day/date. The Green button on this alarm speaks the day and date to him which we like. It has a light which we do not use but I would assume would be good for nighttime doses and nightstand use (we keep ours on top of the refrigerator). Pretty cheap at twenty six buxs, especially compared to hiring a human reminder.

Cons (not really, but..): After trying 3 times, I had to read the instructions to move from alarm to alarm while setting it up - it is not completely intuitive. With this much flexibility it is a very minor price to pay.

A Must For People On Meds - navygirl on Oct 19, 2010

A must buy for people taking multiple meds. Got for my Mom whoes memory is failing - and this medication alarm clock is great and does its moneys worth.
I would highly recommend. You can even put up to 4 alarams in case there is more than once a day meds are taken.

AWESOME! - heidipurple "podzams on Sep 6, 2010

I would definitely recommend this product. I bought it for my parents and Grandmother. Now they all remember their medicine. It take a little practice setting up. But it is worth the effort!

Very Annoying Messages That I Don't Need - bodhibearNE.PA on May 19, 2011

Remembering to take pills when I get up has never been a problem, but I was forgetting sometimes to take a new med twice a day at mealtimes. I bought this knowing it came with voice reminders, but with an option of using a beep instead. What I did not know was that after cancelling an alarm I would still get a voice message that the alarm has been cancelled, the time is (whatever) and the next alarm is set for (whatever). Being perfectly aware of all of this I find this feature intrusive and annoying.
I can see how this feature, and the "check time" feature with a vocal response, could be very useful for those with dementia, but I'm nowhere near the stage where I need these features, and I can't see how they can be turned off

I Love It!!!! - david on Jan 16, 2012

Alarm is quite loud and is easy to adjust. Time display is a little small while day and date is huge. I would prefer it was the other way around but no biggy. Im interested to see how long the batteries last?

Very Pleased With Product - Lynn Walsh on Jan 3, 2012

I purchased this product for my elderly mother, who is having trouble remembering to take her pills. Once it is set up it is very helpful. It is easy for her to read and to respond to the prompt.

I do wish that a power transformer was also included.

Great Reminder... - Patricia L. Rueb on Dec 8, 2011

My husband and I are in our sixties, and we tend to forget to take our meds on time. The Medcenter Talking Alarm Clock is exactly what the Dr. ordered!

My Mom Loves This Alarm - nanhad on Dec 6, 2011

excellent item, easy to program, great way to remember to take medications up to 4X per day. its loud and can be heard from another room, and continues to go off until you get to it (keep it by the medications)
the only thing that could be a negative is that when the AA batteries go bad and have to be replaced, all the settings must be reprogrammed.

Great Product! - A. Eads on Nov 26, 2011

I got this for my 8 year old niece with ADHD. She has to take a pill in the morning before school and she would always forget it. Her parents would forget to remind her too. Since getting this clock she hasnt missed her morning meds at all and her teacher said there is a big difference in her behavior! The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't let you set it for specific days, ie: M-F... so unless she remembers to shut it off, which in turn means remembering to turn it back on, then it goes off on the weekend too! Otherwise I think this is a great product and I am happy I got it!

MedCenter Talking Alarm - Nan-Texas on Jul 26, 2011

I purchased one of these alarms for my mom in 2009, and she has used it ever since. She has not had any trouble with it at all. I think it's a great product, I've recommended it to others and I'm going to get one for myself.

8 Stars - J. King on Jul 7, 2011

3 extra stars for allowing a moron like me figure out how to program it without instructions.
It's easy, it's loud, works great.

I'm only using 3 of the 4 alarm sets, I just turned the 4th alarm to off.
I like the females voice, it's loud and quite clear.
when she goes off you just hit the acknowledge button and she tells you when her next alarm will begin. I love it

Excellent Product - bevbct on Jun 16, 2011

At the age of 87 my mom found herself taking medications twice a day. She had trouble remembering to take her pills and, if my sister or I didn't remember to call, she'd miss a dose here and there. This product has taken care of that problem. Twice a day, there's an automated verbal reminder to take her pills. I am very happy with this product, as is my mom.

Med Clock - Mentos on May 24, 2011

This verbal clock reminder worked very well for my 88 year old father who is suffering from dementia. It was loud enough for him to hear it and the repeating message got through to him to take his medications. Very pleased with the purchase.

Talking Alarm - cath on May 7, 2011

I agree with most others. It was difficult to figure out and set, but once it was done, it's worked fine. I would recommend this item.

Doesn't Work For Very Long - G. Cooney "woodcutte on Apr 17, 2011

This would be a fabulous product if it worked for very long. So far I've had 2. The first one lasted 10 months. The second one lasted 5.

My Mom Loves This! - kathy on Apr 16, 2011

My Mom was showing signs of confusion and was missing her meds often or doubling up on them. She frequently didn't know what day is was. After researching online what products were available I chose this one because the cost was reasonable and I liked the display on front. Mom is in a senior apartment and the new talking alarm clock is the talk of the neighborhood. She loves this thing. And it has given me some peace of mind since it is keeping her meds on track. I think she just enjoys listening to another voice too.

Short Life Broke In Less Than 12 Months - Drat on Feb 25, 2011

The buttons on the back are hard to slide. After about 6 months, the alarms wouldn't turn on no matter which setting you had it on.

Does What It's Supposed To - deefed on Jan 14, 2011

Great product but should include instructions for programming. For example, I wanted to set it for only 2 reminders and it took a lot of trial and error to eliminate the presets and set my desired times. The messages are loud and clear and it is very helpful.

Difficult To Program - bumble bee "bumble b on Feb 6, 2010

For some reason, you have to program med times in order, plus it says "morning alarm" even if its not morning...
other than that - its a good product.

A Waste Of Money - Julia A. Roberts on Sep 3, 2009

The reason for this purchase was to make my life easier - not add to the frustration! This thing was a royal pain to set up and forget that annoying voice - jeeze that alone was enough to make me cringe. If you just want something simple, basic, easy to use and dependable - find another product.
