Great Product. - JakeChappy on Oct 3, 2010

I purchased this product because my mother, who has Parkinson's, had a difficult time with the taking of her pills. She takes pills three times a day. I tried assigning letters to each pill and made, what I deemed a simple to follow chart, but we needed more. I feared accidental double does due to the possibility that she forgot whether she took he dose. Two weeks ago this product arrived, and problem solved. It is easy to load, easy to setup, and has solved the pill problem. The other great feature is that, because you set out the pills by the week, it is easy to know what pills you are running low on with plenty of time to spare. As for the operation of the machine, it is simple. There is absolutely no buttons for the pill taker to touch. It beeps, they pick it up to dispense the pills. The beepin alarm stops only when the dispenser is picked up. Genious!!!!! Thank you to whoever creates this inexpensive, yet effective, product. I would, and have, recommended this to anyone who is having a hard time dealing with a love ones pills.

Great Value, Does What It's Supposed To Do - Humdinger on Feb 11, 2011

My 87 year old mother lives in a retirement home. We were having issues with her dementia causing her to forget to take her pills on schedule. We had been using a four times a day pill tray. Finally we relented and used the retirement home nursing staff to administer her pills at an initial cost of $175 per month. Soon afterwards, this fee was doubled by the retirement home to $360 a month for the same service. This prompted me to research online for a pill dispensing device. There are some which can cost up to $850, which is still feasable compared to the fee being charged by the nursing staff. After researching, I found the Med-e-lert 2T. I decided to try it because of favorable reviews and the extremely affordable cost of only $69. At that price, what was the risk? We are extremely pleased with the product, to say the least. It peforms as advertised, is simple to program, and has saved us money and our sanity in dealing with my mom. She quickly adapted to the Med-e-lert schedule, and we no longer have to call multiple times a day to remind her to take her pills. Also, we don't have to worry about her taking pills out of sequence. We had problems with her cheating ahead on her sleeping medication in the evening. My only minor suggestions would be that I'd like the manufacturer to add a small screw underneath to the battery compartment lid to keep the batteries locked in place in case the tray is dropped or so the patient can't remove the batteries easily. My second suggestion is that the tray needs to have one blank space in the tray when it's initially filled so no pills are exposed. People using a four times a day weekly refill cannot load the tray fully without having one dose exposed to the patient when the tray is first refilled with the tray as it is. We love this product, especially at it's reasonable price. Order a spare tray, you'll need it so you can refill off site.

Great Product!!! - Beverly M Crockett on Jul 22, 2011

This product is everything it says it is! My mother-in-law has early stage Alzheimer's and lives on her own. She is very active with her church and women's circle, so she has been well enough to take care of herself except for remembering to take her medications. I prepare her medications for her and in the past we tried regular organizers but she would forget and then get confused about what she had missed and what she was suppose to take. It was especially scarey when she was placed on Coumadin and her doctor was trying to get her blood level stable. Since we started using the Med-e-lert pill dispenser she has not missed any of her medications and I can see how much more confident she feels about taking her meds. The doctor is pleased now because her blood level has stablized. She has started calling the pill dispenser Suzie and has told me that she can get involved in a project at home and not have to worry about losing track of time and forgetting her medications. "Suzie always reminds me!"

This pill dispenser is to set up and use. I had no trouble setting the alarm. This particular purchase comes with a second tray and special cover to keep the second tray of prepared meds sealed until needed. My mother-in-law takes medications twice a day and so I am able to set up a month's worth of medication using both trays. It is light and easy to handle for her as well. If needed, my mother-in-law can easily take it with her if she was going to be away from the house. Suzie has really been a life saver for my mother-in-law and for me. I don't worry as much either.

Medication Relief - jack-o-trades on Dec 27, 2011

This thing has been great for my mother. Easy to use, program and effective. Bought an extra tray which my wife loads with meds so we can just replace the empty with one that is filled. Prior to this, getting the right meds and the right times was a nightmare. One less thing we have to worry about. Fantastic product.

Great For My Dad's Medicine - Billy R. Hulsey on Dec 6, 2011

My dad lives along and 90 years old but he was getting confused as to when to take his medicines. This solved the problem; he takes his medicines on time and cannot take them more often than necessary.

Makes Live Easier - Gina on Oct 12, 2011

This product makes life so much easier. Doses were almost never at the same time of the day before this product. Now doses are never missed and are taken at the same time each day. Only problem with product is that the cover for the batteries doesn't stay on. Tape fixed that.

Defective Pill Dispenser - Leslie Wright on Sep 22, 2011

Pill dispenser does not work properly. It dispenses when it wants to,not when it is programed to. I am still waiting for a response from the company to return it!!!

Good Value - Great Company - Mark Crawford on Aug 27, 2011

Product works well, bins were a little small for all of Grandma's pills so I just set it up to dispense two bins in the morning and one in the evening. Easy to program and lots of options.

Pill Dispenser - linda on Aug 15, 2011

This product works great. It helped my Mothers with the problems of remembering to taking her pills. It is good that it has a light and a buzzer that goes off when it is time to take the pill. My Mother is hard of hearing so the light is great.

Great Item For Keeping Track Of Medication Doses - Carolyn Gannett on Apr 4, 2011

It takes a little time to set up but works perfectly once it is programed. I would recommend this item to anyone who needs to keep track of multiple doses.

Great Product! - ivydon on Feb 27, 2011

My father was getting confused using a traditional pill box - he was missing doses and sometimes taking 2 days worth of pills in one day (eeeeeek!) I bought the Med-e-lert and it is absolutely fabulous! My Dad doesn't miss any doses now and he can't overdose because of the way the dispenser operates. I have it set up to dispense meds 4x/day, so each tray is good for one week. The Med-e-lert 2T comes w/2 trays and I bought an extra tray, so I can have pills ready to go (3) weeks @ a time. The alarm sounds and my Dad takes his pills right on schedule. Peace of mind = PRICELESS!!
