It Works! - Luana Howard "lmhowa on Dec 15, 2010

This is the first progesterone cream I have tried. I used Estroven which alleviated some symptoms, but made others worse -- Hot flashes were a little better, my hair stopped falling out, and my mood improved a lot, but my blood pressure went through the roof to 180+/120, I was bloated and gained 10+ pounds in a month, my blood sugar and cholesterol were up, I had bouts of depression and anxiety, my joints ached, and I had trouble concentrating and even more trouble sleeping. I was also tired all the time. At 46 I also had only 1 period in the past 10 months but none since taking the Estroven. So I weaned myself off of it and got the Femgest. I could tell it was working within the first 24 hours (hormones can and do work quickly. Just look how fast Insulin has to work!).

I went to the store prepared to buy another brand but this was packaged as a buy 1-get 1 free so I decided to try it instead. That day I blew my diet and had way too much fat, carbs, and sodium, from the bagel with cream cheese, a greasy 8" Italian sub, a hard taco, half bag of pork rinds, and lasagna with extra cheese, I should have woke up famished, lethargic, and bloated. I put on about 1/2 tsp. before going to bed and slept like a baby, had no night sweats, and awoke alert, calm (even though I overslept!), well rested, and 3 pounds lighter! I put on another 1/2 tsp. in the morning. Before noon I noticed my mind was clear, I wasn't tired and achy, and I didn't have any wild cravings! I felt a little warm a few times but not prickly hot like before.
I'm going to give it some more time and see if I'm taking too much or too little and see how my weight, periods, blood pressure, sugar, and cholesterol respond.

The cream is a little sticky, but absorbs quickly and has a pleasant, light, lemon scent. It reminds me of Bath & Body's lemon and verbena. The directions recommend putting the cream on the hands and feet. I tried it on other areas, but I think I'll stick to my hands and feet because of the stickiness. I hope this helps.

Blessed Relief! - OceanGma3 on Jul 29, 2011

I had an abdominal hysterectomy several years ago-including removal of the ovaries, which put me into immediate menopause. I did'nt want to do estrogen because my mom had breast cancer that was estrogen-fed. So, I tried the route of commercials bleating the wondrous benefits of soy/ black cohosh/wild yam,etc-.
NOTHING worked. I found progesterone cream at Wal-mart and since it said it was banned in California, I figured it's GOT to be good. Used it for years-worked wonderfully- NO hot flahes, agitation, etc. THEN they stopped carrying it. GREAT. So, I order some online at Amazon-fell for the bio-identical nonsense that wild yam WAS better for the body.
Maybe it's better for the body, but it DOES'NT work on menopause symptoms. I stopped using it,went back on Amazon- found this brand-NO wild yam, banned in Ca- GREAT !]
It is WONDERFUL. THEN, my ob-gyn wanted me to go on estrogen for a short time to prepare myself for surgery to repair what the hysterectomy failed at[supposedly estrogen strengthens ligaments]. I went off my progesterone and started the estrogen. Within DAYS, my hot flashes were back, along with agitation, sleeplessness and RAVENOUS hunger. I called the Dr. and said sorry-I'm going back on progesterone. Within days, I was feeling normal. And ladies, don't let anyone tell you it's all in your head. We KNOW our bodies. Wer'e NOT stupid.
Hope this review helps.

OMGee! THIS STUFF REALLY WORKS!!! - Kristine Cheney "Tis on Jul 14, 2011

*****FIVE STARS *****
I had an emergency hysterectomy when I was 30. Now that I'm turning 40, I was never warned that the ovary they left me with was at high risk to fail. For the past few years my skin has been excessively dry, my exhaustion was awful (I felt lethargic!), night sweats and hot flashes started this last year, and so did the scary heart palpitations and lengthy attacks of anxiety (I felt I was about to have a heart attack!), not to mention the inability to sleep and not having any restful sleep, and then there was my mood swings. In short...I was MISERABLE!!!

I did some research online and quickly found information about estrogen dominance, anyways, the symptoms sounded like me. The Dr. (Dr. Lee?) who was speaking about it recommended simple solutions and a natural progesterone cream was one of them. I researched all the brands and after reading tons of reviews everywhere, I decided to try Fem-Gest. Let me tell you, I'm so glad I did. I purchased this product at GNC at a Mall in Glendale, Arizona. I went right into a store restroom, dipped my third finger in good and rubbed it right into the skin on my upper tummy (underneath my breasts). Within an hour or so I felt like I had a burst of energy (not like the stimulant kind...no shakiness or jitters at all). I felt mentally alert, awake, and I just plain felt emotionally good. That night I slept like a baby and I noticed my flashes were a lot milder. A few more days of using the same good fingertip dose ever morning, all of my above symptoms were obliterated.

I continue the same morning regimen. I have learned that I pay the price if I'm late putting it on or if I accidentally skip a day, so it is best to be consistent with your timing. The tub says you can use it twice a day, but once a day seems to be working fine for me. The lotion is not greasy, it rubs in awesome, doesn't stain my clothes at all, and has a faint lemony scent that isn't at all unpleasant.

Most of all, my night sweats are gone, my temperment is ME again, I am getting the best sleep I have had in YEARS! Once I fall asleep, I stay asleep and I even wake up feeling rested and ready for the day. I never thought this could happen with a product. THIS STUFF WORKS!! My energy levels are still amazing, I actually want to do things, my anxiety is greatly reduced (I'd say 90-95% gone!) and my heart palpitations are gone! Thanks to this product, I feel like a new woman! I have my life back! I will never stop using this product...plus, with the buy-one-get-one-free, this is an AWESOME deal. These two jars will last me several months.

Ladies, if you're having these symptoms, it isn't you...it's your hormones. There's no need to suffer if you can easily do something to make you feel so much better...and believe me, you WILL feel better! I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this product!

PS: My hubby is happy, too!

Like A Charm! - JerseyJen on Jun 6, 2011

I received this package the same day I was told it would arrive. I have PCOS and low progesterone. I hadn't had a cycle in over three months, I wanted to go a more natural way since my Dr. was pushing birth control. This worked wonderfully! I started a new cycle on the 10th day of recomended 14 day application so I stopped early. Hopefully as time goes on, I will become more regulated and cyst free. What I don't know is wether or not this product contains wild yam, which I was trying to avoid.

Very Quick Service - A. Opland on Aug 7, 2010

I am totally impressed with this company. I got my cream within a week after ordering, which is great for up here in Alaska. The item, with shipping, was about $22 compared to $30 from Fred Myers. That will add up to a lot of savings, seens how this is something I use 2 times a day for 5 days month in and month out.

FemGest Progesterone Cream - Holly McNew "katbutt on Jan 17, 2012

I have been taking this for approximately 2 weeks.

PROS: The hot flashes are completely gone. Any of my other symptoms are gone also.

CONS: However, I am ALWAYS tired and getting way too much sleep.

Overall, this is definitely working. This is my first try using any kind of progesterone cream, so I am definitely impressed!

Pre-menopausal - Jennifer Simons on Nov 12, 2011

After reading several reviews from women who are experiencing extreme menopausal symptoms, I felt the need to share what this product has done for me in my mid-30's.

After reading one of Dr. Lee's books from the library (I was just passing by it and the title stood out to me) and doing a lot of research on line, I tried several types of progestrone creams to help with my allergies and my severe PMS. This product was by far the best one for the price. I first purchased it at GNC and now get it from Wayne & Mary's down the street. Although, it didn't do a lot for my allergies, the comfort for my PMS symptoms is wonderful! I don't get so irritable; I can concentrate better; I don't get the munchies as bad as before, and my cramping is now only mildly irritating.

The recommendations for pre-menopausal women is to take it for two weeks, instead of three. I think I use it for about a week and a half every month. Something else you should know is that if you take too much, you can start feeling similar symptoms to having too much estrogen in your system. When that happens, I usually just skip a day and I feel better. It's all about balance.

As I hear horror stories about young women who have had to have surgery, and older women who have had to live with the effects of their hormonal imbalance, I am grateful that I found out about this product early. I urge anyone who has any of these issues to start smaller doses earlier to hopefully lessen the issues you may have later.

Product Is Good But Seller Customer Service Bad - Palomina on Oct 19, 2011

I have purchased this product for years either from health food stores or online. As far as I know, it is always packaged in a 2 jar box. I recently purchased the item from Nutricity and after using up the first jar I opened the second jar and found it completely dehydrated! I panicked, as I was in the middle of a cycle and did not wish to run out. I re-ordered immediately and then the next day contacted Nutricity about the problem. After more than a 24 hour wait I got an e-mail back saying I was mistaken, that I had NEVER ordered from them! Could I send the confirmation e-mail of the order. Well of course I didn't any longer have the confirmation e-mail (it takes me almost 3 months to use a jar) but I sent them the invoice from my Amazon file. (I had also ordered from them prior to that!) After another 24 hour wait I get the answer: Oh, well, now you've waited too long. Maybe it is your fault it dried up, maybe you stored it improperly. Are you kidding me! It would probably take a year for a jar of cream to dry up like that. It was stored in my humid bathroom like every other jar of cream I've ever purchased. True, it was after the return policy deadline, but as a returning customer who had just placed ANOTHER order and due to the nature of the product may well be ordering for the rest of my natural life, you couldn't throw in an extra jar of cream or give me half price off on the next order? Well that is really stupid business practice. I immediately e-mailed to cancel my order. (They have a phone number listed, but no matter which extension you push, it says they don't answer the phone, you have to e-mail them!-More shady business practice.)Also, I involved Amazon customer service so Nutricity couldn't claim that I was too late to cancel the order. They did cancel it-funny how when I involved Amazon I didn't have to wait over 24 hours for a response but got one right away- but here I sit with a $9.00 jar of worthless cream. It would have never occurred to me to inspect both jars of cream when I received the package to make sure they are cream. Who does that? This type of business practice in this economy just enrages me. Can you tell :\ If I wanted to be clever, I could have just received the order and then claimed that one of those was dried up and returned it. Instead, I trusted that they would treat a customer as though she was valued and I got stuck with their defective product. I am sorry to bring down the rating on this product by venting here, but I have timed out on leaving seller feedback, and I hope non one else gets burned. Again, on a 2 for 1 product who breaks the seal on both products to inspect them when they receive them? Ridiculous! Oh! I'm just reading their return policy and it says the ONLY way to get a refund is if the product is UNopened! So how could I have inspected the product to see that it was defective? And who uses 2 jars of progesterone cream in 14 days?! Oh, I'm miffed! Too bad I can't get a hit of progesterone to calm myself down : CC Nutricity

Mfg Will Not Disclose Amount Of Progesterone - rosie on Sep 10, 2011

I bought FemGest Progesterone Cream and have been using it for the past month. I'm not sure yet if it works. I tried to find out how much progesterone was in the cream. It's not listed on the product. The manufacturer, Home Health, said that the amount was proprietary information and would not disclose the amount. FemGest by Home Health is not on Dr. John R. Lee's list of recommended progesterone creams. [...]

I Feel Goooooooood! - Fuzz on Aug 1, 2011

I am a very very new user of this product and I have to say that I feel better after 4 days!! I am already sleeping better, have not had hot flash since I started, my mood seems so much more happy & energetic and I don't seem to have the extreme cravings for food that is bad for me! All this in 4 days! I am hoping that I will see a huge difference in my tummy fat build up too! I am going to continue on this progesterone road for a long time and hope to even see more benefits pop up! I don't notice the odd smell as some have stated. I didn't think it was that bad. I would highly recomend this product to anyone going thru all the signs of menopause!!

Review - Kim on Jul 25, 2011

The femgest cream seems to work as good as other progesterone creams. However, it is much to thick and does not absorb well. I ended up using more for the same effect as other creams. I would not rec. this product.

Internal Inferno - K. Rangos "KimR" on Nov 4, 2010

My hot flashes seem to be getting worse and I really don't want to go on HRT. I remember a friend of mine had used progesterone cream and swore by it so thought I would give it a try. It seems to be helping to calm the fire I deal with especially at night. I hope it will keep things in check as I continue my journey through this phase of life so at this point I am satisfied with the product.
