Editorial Reviews
B000YD01QG

The instructions indicate those with sensative stomachs should take a lesser dose, but alas that didn't work for me. I might try it again in the future.
I've also experienced a great improvement in urgency & frequency during daytime hours, and no longer experience incontence leaks. Pad liberation, yay!
One thing I especially appreciate, and that is that after I'd been on Cystoprotek for a while, I began to once again tolerate small amts of tea, fruit juice, salad dressings & acidic fruits, which before Cystoprotek triggered bouts of agonizing urinary frequency.
Thumbs up for this great product.
I only just began taking Cystoprotek and so far I haven't had any strange side effects; maybe a slight increase in heartburn, which is normal. But many of the reviews on here say they had "immediate" relief? This is very improbable as the only thing that takes away pain immediately is a narcotic. I can only attribute such enthusiasm to the placebo effect.
If you're trying out this product, please use it for the customary 3 months before before giving up all hope. There are also aloe supplements and such I would consider as well. [...]
When I finally received the IC, your-guess-is-as-good-as-mine "diagnosis," I wanted to find an alternative remedy rather than take prescribed drugs that were either new and experimental, or that were known to make hair fall out. I ordered Cystoprotek along with Healthy Life Harvest Aloe capsules for IC sufferers and Prelief to help cancel out the acid in my foods.
After two and a half weeks, I am finally sleeping again. Last night I slept nine hours straight! New moms and people with IC will understand what this means to me.
My dosage has been two Cystoprotek twice a day, two or three Prelief tabs with acid-forming meals, and aloe caps three times per day. The final dosage of aloe I save for the middle of the night in case I wake up. (I was happy to miss that dose last night!)
One note of caution on the aloe - the manufacturers don't mention this but some sources recommend against taking aloe vera for more than six weeks at a time. It is believed to have a long-term dampening effect on the sexual system and libido if taken without a break. Unfortunately, I couldn't ascertain how long the break should be.
Finally, I am also avoiding foods known to aggravate IC: cranberry, tomato, citrus, coffee and tea, all of which will give me an extra-bad night, Prelief notwithstanding. I seem to do OK with some others like avocado, though. Perhaps it is individual.
I will update in a month or two. BTW, hats off to Amazon. I ordered this through their subscription program, which knocks %15 off the price and comes with free shipping - nice. But imagine my surprise when the two bottles I ordered arrived THE NEXT DAY. Overnight free shipping? Who ever heard of THAT? Needless to say, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.
I plan on seeing if their is a return provision if I can't tolerate it?
I have suffered from IC for many years, although I've never had a formal diagnosis. I had a bad bladder infection as a child at age 8. That was treated and I was OK until after I got married. Then I started getting repeat bladder infections. It took me years to catch on to the fact that it was the diaphragm that was causing the infections. I learned how to prevent bladder infections from the excellent book "You Don't Have to Live with Cystitis" by Larrian Gillespie. I have not had a single bladder infection in the 20 years since reading this book. However, even after the infections stopped, my bladder felt raw for a couple more years. Slowly my bladder healed and I had some good years with only minimal discomfort. But in my late 40s my bladder pain flared up again and became progressively worse. I tried PreLief and the IC diet, but was never able to tell if they helped.
I finally found something that has helped my bladder: estrogen!
I started using estradiol in both patch and cream form (Vivelle Dot and Estrace) at age 52 for dryness due to perimenopause. Not only did the dryness go away, but my bladder symptoms quickly and dramatically improved (something I wasn't expecting). I've been taking the estrogen for almost 2 years now and my bladder symptoms continue to be under control. My bladder rarely ever hurts now, which is dream come true for me. Pre-estrogen, my bladder bothered me most of the time. Occasionally I will get a mild flare, but nothing like the agony I used to endure. I'm passing this on for the sake of other women who might be helped. Best wishes to everyone.
Zyflamend 1 capsule 3 times a day and Cystoprotek 2 capsules twice a day.
This product works. I had tried prescription drug Elmiron, DMSO cocktails, Tibial Nerve Stimulation, instillations of sodium hyolaronate, all did nothing!
This worked from the first I took it (I took it with a little chocolate, so sue me : ) ), making the reaction to the chocolate much milder than it would usually have been. I have been taking it about a month. It also has a cumulative effect, like Elmiron does for people for whom it works.
I am editing my original review to include this paragraph, because I see that it takes many (or even most) people weeks to months to see any improvement. I felt really bad when I read that, because I thought "Oh no. I hope they didn't give up because I said it helped me right away!" It did help me right away and continues to be extremely helpful, but it seems that the rapidity with which I responded to it is not the norm. Also, when I say it is an improvement, that's what I mean! It's not a cure! I still have i.c., Cystoprotek makes it much milder, but I definitely still have i.c.
I have also tried competing over-the-counter remedies, with no success (one made me worse).
So, if you have i.c., and it is not under control w/ Elmiron, etc., or even if it is, I HIGHLY recommend this product!!!
One caveat: It can make one slightly nauseous. Only a small number of users of Cystoprotek seem to have nausea, but I am one of them. I spoke to Alaven and they said put the 2 capsules in the freezer for 30 minutes before taking them w/ food. This, admittedly is a pain in the you know what. But, it apparently slows the entry of the Cystoprotek into your system and does ALMOST completely get rid of the nausea. I still have a tiny bit, but it seems to be going away w/ time.
I said can't I just put the whole bottle in the freezer and take out capsules as needed and they were emphatic that, no, I could not. It apparently negatively affects the product to be frozen for long periods. This is the only part of using the product that I do not like. But to have found something that really and truly works (and is slowly letting me eat more like a normal human being!!), I can hardly get over it!!
I started taking them and started to feel relief right away, as the days go by it gets better and better. I still watch out for trigger foods and have purchased a Toddy cold coffee brewer that reduces coffee acid by 67%. I am able to have my iced latte now. That is what I missed the most, that and my precious sleep.
I prayed so hard for an answer and my prayers were heard and answered, Cystoprotek has given me my life back.
If you are suffering from IC please give this a try.
I pray you find your answer too! -Peace
She was trying other pills, but it was very expensive, so we find Cystoprotek and she say it really works the same, but we don't have to expend a lot of money to make my mom feels good.
