Lets See ... Give It A Poor Review Because You Cannot Read The Description? - MD_too on Jan 26, 2011

This generic version of Chlor-Trimeton is an excellent buy, even at twice the price.
Generic product manufactured in Pennsylvannia and shipped from New York City.
My ordered processed quickly and shipped USPS with tracking.
I have no complaints.
Cannot understand individuals who punish a vender with a terrible rating for no reason at all.

Excellent Allergy Product - KC on May 8, 2011

I was so glad to find this generic of Chlortrimeton 12 hour, which has disappeared recently and is apparently no longer produced due to the popularity of Claritin and Zyrtec and their generics - which do nothing for me. Benedryl is fine, but doesn't last long. This is the only extended release antihistimine that I have been able to find lately. This product is an excellent timed-release antihistimine, providing long-lasting allergy relief without any unneccessary additional ingredients such as decongestants which raise blood pressure. I use it twice a day, morning and bedtime, for my hay fever type allergies, and I even give one daily to my 35lb beagle for her itching allergies with no problem, and the extended effectiveness is a blessing. I would strongly recommend checking with your vet before giving it to your dog, though, because my dog has had to take antihistimines since she was a puppy and therefore has a higher tolerance. Antihistimines can have a sedative effect - you don't want to OD your beloved pet!

It's Exactly What It Says - Human Pills Even - D. Turner "bald guy" on Jan 27, 2011

As far as I can tell this is the same stuff you get in the blister packs that costs $0.50 per pill or more. Works the same way on me. The only difference is that it has an expiration date that's sooner than I'd like (8 months away instead of a year). For that much savings, I can handle the shorter deadline to take the drug.

What really curdles my oats (or whatever colorful phrase you prefer) is that I can buy 1000 4mg pills of the same stuff for $8.00. That's a ridiculous price. But I have to pay $0.33 per for the 12mg extended release? Why can't I pay $24 for 1000 of them? Or even $48 or $96 or heck, $192. I'd happily pay that. Well, I'd gripe a little, but still. $0.33 is exorbitant.

Excellent Product - J. Hemphill "Good Mo on Jun 18, 2011

It became impossible to find the long acting Clortrimeton in my area and then I found this. Much more economical, came quickly in the mail and works well.

Safest Anti-histamine Around. - J. E. Highcove on May 1, 2011

I was first introduced to this product by a research pharmacologist. It was the only antihistamine around at the time that would not raise your blood pressure, and is mild enough to give to your dog or cat. If you have minor allergies, this product will do for you with no drowsiness or other aftereffects.

Tried & Tru Antihistamine - Frank White on Jul 9, 2011

Tried & tru antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergy. works better than most o/c allergery meds and longer than many others I've tried. i orginally bought this 55 years ago by perscription as Teldrin.

Awesome 30 Day Supply Of 12 Hour Pills - C. Nelsen "lilacviol on Jun 12, 2011

I was so thankful to find this product since ChlorTrimeton 12 hour seems to have disappeared from store shelves. I have found it works as well as the ChlorTrimeton 12 hour and very satisfied with its results. Having 60 pills helps too so the bottle lasts!

This Old School 12 Hour Works In Between. - Robert J. Mcgrath "U on May 11, 2011

They stopped marketing 12 hour version of this years ago. This is a newly approved and available version. Works well for me in between taking Zyrtec. I switch when Zyrtec not working.

Doesn't Work Quite As Well As Chlor-Trimeton - SuperShopper on Apr 1, 2011

These work, but not quite as well as the brand name Chlor-Trimeton, which I can't find anywhere, so they'll do in the meantime. They seem to wear off earlier than the brand name pills and don't seem quite as strong.

Since I Can't Get This Medicine By Prescription - Ceil on Jan 22, 2012

Taking this 12 hour product sure beats taking the 4 hour brand name Chlortrimeton 6 times a day! I used to be able to get this by prescription in a mix with Sudafed called Deconamine. I took it for years for my allergies with great success and no side effects--so did lots of other people--but the FDA took it off the market for reasons unknown. (I called them and they had no idea why it was taken off the market except that they discourage mixed drugs--better to have the patient take a zillion more pills I guess. Seems really crazy because it was a way putting Sudafed in a formula so it couldn't be used to make Meth.)

At any rate, I now recreate my Deconamine by taking this product and either 12 or 24 hour Sudafed (for which I have the allergist write a prescription so I can get more than one box at a time!) I am able to keep my allergies under control with this mix and I will keep ordering this product every few months.

Just As Good As The Name Brand - Karen on Jan 10, 2012

The new 24 hour allergy drugs don't work for me, so I was very disappointed when I could no longer find the 12 hour Chlor-Trimeton in stores. I ordered a generic from a local pharmacy, and it was just as good as the name brand, but it cost much more than what I was paying for the name brand, so I checked amazon and found this alternative. Not only does it work as well as the original, but it is cheaper, so I'm a very happy customer. I hope they don't discontinue this as I will be buying it regularly.

Chlorphen-12 - Constance on Dec 17, 2011

A great product for hay fever relief-have used it for over 50 yrs. So glad to be able to find it on Amazon.com!

Chlorpheniramine Maleate Extended Release, 12 Mg - tw on Dec 12, 2011

Works as good as 12 hour Chlor-Trimeton which is now hard to find in stores. Will buy this again because it works.

Chlorphen-12 Vs. Chlortrimeton 12 Hour (8mg) - Cuffy on Dec 6, 2011

Chlortrimeton (Chlorpheniramine Maleate) was originally a prescription legend drug when I was prescribed it by my physician between 1975-79 or so. I developed seasonal allergies in my mid-twenties and this was the fix-it for the misery and the only one that was effective. It wasn't long before the FDA allowed Chlortrimeton to become an over-the-counter medication (OTC). Over the years I've tried Zyrtec, Benadryl, and pretty much all the other "new and wonderful" allergey meds and the only one that actually works for me, with ZERO side-effects, is Chlorpheniramine Maleate (Chlortrimeton) ... but the cost! Ouch!! Then I found Chlorphen-12 online looking for cheaper Chlortrimeton and I ordered some Chlorphen from Amazon here and gave it a try. IT WORKS THE SAME AS THE CHLORTRIMETON!! But it's about 1/3 the cost or less. I'm using it exclusively now and it does its job well. The magic's in the "stuff" its made of, Chlorpheniramine Maleate as the active ingredient, and it's what Chlortrimeton and Chlorphen are. I guess you'd call Chlorphen the "generic version" of Chlortrimeton. They're interchangeable and effective for me, but of course I choose the less costly ... CHLORPHEN-12.

Been Looking For Chlor Trimeton? - sm!les on Dec 2, 2011

To my dismay Chlor Trimeton 12 hour capsules are almost impossible to find on the shelf any more. This product has worked great for me and the price can't be beat.

Stop That Allergy Cough! - Kechmocash "Susan" on Oct 27, 2011

This is a good product for those of us who have a chronic allergy cough. Hard to find anywhere but online, and this is a good source.Chlorpheniramine Maleate Extended Release, 12 Mg , 60 Tablets

Works Great! - Julie Martinez on Oct 16, 2011

I ordered these for my husband. He has miserable seasonal allergies that only respond to ChlorTrimetron. When CT has been unavailable, he would try a variety of other medications which would either not work at all or would make him extremely drowsy. The Chlorphen works just as good as the ChlorTrimetron, but seems to be frequently available and at a better price.

Good Stuff On Time - Breauxjw on Sep 21, 2011

This is a drug for my wifes allergies and it is fairly effective, but nothing seems to work to stop her coughing from post nasal drip.

This Stuff Is Great! - Siyotanka on Sep 14, 2011

I tried Chlorphen-12 when Chlorotrimeton 12 was taken off the market. I'm happy I did! I think it works even better than Chlorotrimeton, and it's cheaper.

Excellent/Chlorpheniramine Maleate Extended Release, 12Mg. - Louise Schrock on Sep 13, 2011

I am very pleased with the product, which had been recommended by my lung doctor. We attempted to purchase it over the counter, but with no success. After ordering the product with Amazon, we received it when it was suggested that it would be due. Our service was excellent. Thank you.

Not As Affective As Brand Name - DDAVIS on Jul 3, 2011

Never found chlortrimaton 12 hr in generic before now. Ordered this generic from Amazon but it has not been as affective as the brand name. Will most likely not use it again.
