Mini Portable: This trigger point massager is very compact and easy to use. You can fit the massager in your purse, small travel bag or desk. Release the exact point where you feel pain, stress or strain. By varying the amount of pressure applied and the angle at which it is directed, YOU can release tight, spastic, knotted muscles.

I immediately took it out of the box and used it. Instantly, and I do mean instantly, I felt better. I went to lunch and noticed that I moved, turned my head, and drove with zero pain. The mini body buddy doesn't do much for me, but if I'm driving a long distance or something I will probably bring it. The big one would be too cumbersome.
Seriously, this thing is awesome. I can now get rid of the tennis balls I keep in my office drawer!
Some thought evidently went into the design, but the effectiveness of any particular pressure point or technique, will differ between individuals. Finding out what works for you, is mostly a process of experimentation. Body Back's website provides additional information, like a pressure point chart and illustrations and videos showing how the BBB can be used, but it's up to you to try different things. When experimenting with various positions, it's probably advisable to leave some clear space around you, as it is possible that you might accidentally swing the BBB into something.
Made of heavy duty plastic, the BBB seems very sturdy, and is backed by a lifetime warranty. The two straight handles added to the S-shaped main frame, are a good idea, as they provide convenient places to grip and apply pressure. It may work for some, but in my case, the sharp points usually cause too much pain and chafe my skin. Jamming a tennis ball on the end of the S curve, provides a nice round surface that works pretty well for on my shoulders and back, which is probably the area of the body the BBB is best suited for. The sharp points may work better, when there is a thick layer of flesh between the surface of the skin and the bone.
With the tennis ball modification, I find the BBB to be helpful in relieving stress and pain, mostly in my neck, shoulders, and back. It is supposed to help in other areas of the body, but so far I haven't had solid results anywhere else. The large S-shaped frame does allow you to have the leverage to apply a decent amount of pressure, which can be very helpful in treating pain. The BBB may work for you as designed, but using it with the tennis ball modification is crucial for me. I can often get some relief, just using a tennis ball alone. It's simple to use, inexpensive, and really can produce remarkable results. While there are many places a tennis ball won't work, you might want to try using one first, before investing in something like the BBB.
So if you decide to purchase this item, consider these two points: 1. It comes with no instructional video to help you learn the correct way to use it. 2. Using this item can easily harm you or make a condition worse if not used precisely the way it was invented and intended to be used for. Thanks for reading.
I would recommend
Anyways, i'd highly recommend giving the body back buddy a try. I'd just like to add that the mini back massager works pretty well, but can only reach the top 1/4 of your back. i use it at the office sometimes, but get frustrated and just start daydreaming of the full size one that's sitting at home. I can't bring the full size one to the office because i work in a cubicle/common area with several other co-workers and it would just look to awkward and embarrasing (it's pretty large, and has a very phallic looking part to it). If the majority of your back pain is lower than the top 1/4 if your back, i'd recommended only buying the Body back buddy and saving the 7 dollars).
happy massaging,
Nolasurf
I've found that I almost exclusively use the single knob in the middle, directed at/around my shoulder blades (with lots of pressure) and even up the side of my neck (with less pressure). I haven't found the other knobs as useful. The ends of the S don't let me really dig in, so I basically ignore them. That's OK by me.
The mini version is pretty useless for me. I even tossed mine when I was moving apartments and getting rid of junk. I feel that the value of the regular-sized BB is in allowing you to grab both ends and DIG (did I mention I really need a lot of pressure for my knots?), and the little one offered zero leverage and was too short to get to the middle of my back where I need it. It might work for others, but not for me. The large one is so much better that I've even been tempted to pack it in a suitcase on plane trips, though it IS pretty unwieldy so I haven't actually done that yet.
It has been a life saver when my muscles spasm and ache.
No issues with the seller. Item arrived ontime and at cost noted durring purchase.
My only "complaint" is that the flash (seam from the top and bottom of the mold) left behind from the molding process was not ground down completely therefore leaving what feels like a sharp edge when pressed into my skin. I have not tried to grind this down on my own yet, mostly for fear of marring the aesthetics of the BBB.
All in all, I love my BBB and Mini-BBB. I keep the Mini-BBB in my desk at work and take it with me whenever I travel. The Mini doesn't stand a chance in a competition against the BBB, but I don't think its intended to be straight up substitute for the full-sized BBB. Its perfect for that little "pick me up" in the middle of the day when I feel a spasm coming on. I've owned my BBB's for just over a month now and I notice that I have used them less and less each week. Since the only thing that has changed for me is the addition of the BBB into my routine, I can only conclude that the treatment is helping me heal. :-)
The only problem with it is there are a couple ridges from the mold seam that need to be sanded down with some very fine sandpaper. It's very minor and you can only tell on the bare skin. I happen to have all I need to fix that problem so no biggie.
If you have trigger point problems, this is a MUST HAVE!
I have also used it on my calves and feet, all while sitting on the couch.
The mini-BBB fits in with my laptop, and allow me to get relief at work.
No, there are no real directions, which is what I expected. I knew where I needed to work, and how to work it.
The only con is that it is big (it needs to be), but it fits behind the couch, or door just fine.
Ship time was amazing (fedex in less than 24 hours).
As with any muscle stress drink plenty of water.
