Great Stuff For Sore Muscles - BOGY. on Feb 18, 2011

Great for muscle pain.
I have used the Biofreeze spray and it is equally impressive.

Please note, the spray has %10 menthol in it - this gel only has %3.5 menthol but it still does the trick.

The gel is easier to spread and rub into the muscle and skin. The spray is just a spray and really doesn't need to be rubbed into the skin.

Not only does this product get right to the problem, but also eliminates the longer term for a slow drop in the odor typical of would-be similar pain gels. Yes, it is somewhat more expensive than others, but the product is worth any additional cost.

My wife is a nurse and she says one of the physical therapists carries around a gallon of this stuff. Smells much better than the more common stuff and the heat intensity is not as strong. We use it and will continue to use it. I'm giving it 4 stars due to the lack of a WOW factor. To get 5 stars something needs to be exceptional, this is good just not exceptional in my opinion.

I am a fairly active man with bad knees from years of football, karate, skiing etc. I get sharp pains in my kneecaps and throbbing on the sides (meniscus tear) after much physical activity. My mother gave me a tube of this stuff and I have to say I am most impressed with how effective BioFreeze is. Within a couple of minutes after application, the area is warm and the pain is gone. The effects seems to last several hours and the smell dissipates fairly quickly (haven't time that part). I was so impressed that I ordered two more tubes of this.

I have had chronic back and neck pain for years! After trying all the natural and over-the-counter pain relieving products I could find, I decided to give Biofreeze a try. I use it on my neck (bulging disc) and lower back (SI joint & arthritis) and it is remarkable in relieving my pain. When I first got it, I thought it was supposed to be scentless (my bad!). I don't like scented medication lotions/creams. When I applied it to my pain spots, I noticed a minty type of smell but it quickly vanished. I wear it under my clothes since it is stainless and not greasy. It doesn't take long to relieve the pain! And I get some severe pain at times!

Biofreeze is the best product I've found for my pain and I will continue to purchase more of it. If you are suffering from pain, I highly recommend you give it a try. The product is not expensive and is worth every penny to get the relief. I compared prices from various companies and Amazon was the best price available. p.s. I refuse to take pain medications. :)

Bio Freeze is a product that I have been using for over 20 years. I believe it is the best product for it's purpose of relieving muscle pain. I am a fibromyalgia patient and started using it for that now I have developed psoriatic arthritis and use it when the need is called for. I would recommend this to anyone having this type of pain.

I wish I had of found this product years ago. Biofreeze is a great pain reliever. It smells like Vicks Vapor rub so I don't wear it to work, but the scent does disappear after awhile. I use it as soon as I get home on my neck, shoulder, and arm and within 10 minutes the pain disappears. I rated it 4 stars because of the scent.

I have tendonitis in my shoulder and after months of physical therapy and exercise, sleeping at night was still a challenge. My therapist used this and it worked great, however, I didn't know that I could buy it myself (was thinking it could only be purchased through a medical office). I ordered two tubes of this and use it primarily at night before bedtime. The cooling sensation really helps relieve the pain and allows for a more restful nights sleep. It does have an odor, so if you are sensitive to the menthol smell, you may not want this. I can deal with the slight smell for the relief!

This stuff feels great and works like a charm, but is a bit on the messy side. You don't need to use a lot of the product to have it work well. Sometime you can squeeze a bit out of the tube onto you finger, but it will slide right off onto the floor. I would suggest the role on type.

I was first introduced to this by a foot doctor about 2 years ago who did physical therapy in his office. It alleviated about 50% of my pain almost right away. After about 20 minutes most of my pain was relieved for about 3-4 hours. I'm not sure if this will actually help heal an injury but it is fantastic for at least covering up mild to moderate pain. This works way better than Bengay or any other external cream or ointment I've tried (I've tried at least 10 others). It has a very strong but pleasant menthol smell. Highly recommended!

I tired this a few years ago after a car accident and it was great at releiving my back and neck pain. I took it with me everywhere and used it when I was uncomfortable. When laying down with an ice pack was not an option, this was my go to product. Another bonus is that it is not greasey so once the gel dried (only took a minute) my clothes didn't stick to it and I didn't feel that sticky feeling some other ointments leave. You will smell very menthol-like, but the product does work.

This stuff is a must have for sore stiff muscles and joints. My teenage son has daily 4 hour long football practices so with no time for muscle recovery he uses this to relieve soreness and get right back in to his workouts the next day. I just started practicing bikram yoga and applying biofreeze to my joints prior to class allows me to get deeper into my poses and has helped in gaining flexiblility in my ankles and elbows. The scent disappears after a short time unlike other products therefore I dont disturb my fellow classmates with the smell. Great product!

However, it does work pretty well for minor aches (I work at the computer and develop sore shoulders and elbows) and it has two things going for it that make it my favorite. Biofreeze is the best pain relieving gel out there. As a Physical Therapist, I've tried several things on myself and my patients and this is the best in my opinion. It doesn't stain clothing and only smells like menthol until it dries and stays cool on the skin for about 20-30 minutes. When I have a "crick" in my neck it always affords me better relief when doing my range of motion exercises and sometimes helps with headaches too.
