Editorial Reviews
The Charcoal SunRise Clock is derived from medical research on light and human behavior. In the early morning, the biological clock is sensitive to low intensity light. So, waking to a slowly increasing light can result in a smoother, more natural transition to wakefulness. It features an audible back-up alarm, the ability to set dawn and dusk cycles of 15, 30, 60, or 90 minutes, fade to nightlight, adjustable display brightness and more. Comes with hand made opal glass globe. One year manufacturers warranty.

My Morning Sunshine - M. Crocker on Oct 6, 2008

I only wish I had purchased my sunrise lamp years ago; I love it! While it took me a couple of mornings to get the lamp and alarm settings exactly how I need them, it is so nice to wake up more easily and in a better mood. Programming the light is fairly simple, but one thing to remember is that the light will turn itself off about 15 minutes after the set wake up time. I found that extending the wake up sequence from 30 to 60 or 90 minutes made a big difference. My husband and I both have to get up early and it's always dark in the winter; our sunrise lamp really does make getting up easier and we both agree that we are actually happy instead of grumpy when we get up. We no longer need to set our audible alarms as we naturally wake with the lamp.

Great, If You Don't Receive A Defective One! - J. Simpson on Jun 3, 2009

I was so frustrated with the first clock we received. I had the clock for 1 week and it did not work once. I set it for 5am and at 4:30am instead of starting a gradual brightening of the room, it would immediately start at full brightness and then progress to dim, before strobing. Not the way I want to wake up!

I contacted customer service and the woman asked me (in a rude manner) if I had held in the Program button while I was plugging in the light. I told her of course not. She told me I should have. This was not in the manual anywhere! I tried doing that and was woken up again the next day at 4:30am to immediate full light. I waited 3 days to hear back from the company via email about what to do with this product. They said I could ship it to them (at my expense) and have it serviced.

Thankfully, we bought it from Amazon, and not the company, or we would have had difficulty returning it for a working model. We have since received a new one, and this one works fine. As long as you don't get a defective clock, it is a nice thing to have, but save yourself the hassle and buy it from Amazon, rather than Biobrite.

Works As Described, A Bit Expensive - AIStud on Dec 17, 2008

Wish it was a bit cheaper - would buy two. For the relatively low (but robust) technology used in this product (a clock, some timers, a small display, and a simple bulb and a dimmer) the price is really high- it should be priced at maybe 60% less of what it is (say $50) and a lot more people will buy it. Hopefully the prices will drop :-)

Besides the price part, it works fine and really does help the person I gave it to sleep earlier and better.

Another potential issue might be that the bulb does not have a standard socket size- not sure how much Biobrite will charge to replace it, or if it will be available in a regular store.

Still Not Fun To Wake Up Early - Sophia Marie "Sophie on Mar 26, 2010

I am not a morning person. On average I will hit the snooze on my old alarm for 30-45 minutes every morning. And often still not feel awake. That said this alarm did help that. I've only hit the snooze once and I do feel like I wake up more gradually and calmly. So that by the time I need to be out of bed I feel more aware and less zombie like. I have it set for the audio alarm also but usually by then I am awake, it's just kind of a last warning, you must get out of bed now. The light alone has been enough to wake me up, but I need the extra motivation of the noise to get me up and out of bed. Waking up at 5 am still sucks, no alarm clock is going to change that. But this one certainly makes it suck less.

Great Functionality, Great Product, And Yes It Is Worth The High Cost - J. Walker on Nov 24, 2010

I've put off buying one of these products for years because of the cost. I am happy I finally spent the money. When the days grow short I have a hard time waking up, and the alarm clock does the trick but I'm groggy for hours. I finally spent the money on the BioBrite as it seemed to have the best ratings and the negative aspects of reviews I figured I could live with.

What I like:
1. I actually don't even need my alarm most mornings! With the BioBrite I wake up naturally, and my wife doesn't complain (I think she just doesn't want to admit it since she's been against this)
2. If I do have to wake up from my alarm I don't feel groggy because the light has been waking up my brain slowly and naturally.
3. If you give the quick manual a read it is easy to use.
4. Supposedly it takes a regular bulb you can buy at the store. Some others require special bulbs.
5. See #1 and #2

What I don't like:
1. The cost, but really I think it's so worth the money now.
2. Styling. It isn't pretty.
3. Size. it is bigger than it needs to be, might not fit well on a night-stand (read review for why it works for me) - but, it isn't un-wieldly by any means.

Some notes:
1. It would work on the bedside table, but I prefer mine behind a plant at the end of my bed so the light is more like the sun filtering through the blinds.
2. Play with the wake periods and start time. I've found I set it for 45 minutes after I need to be up, and have it on the 90 minute cycle. That way the light is enough to wake me but not too bright to wake up to (see #1)
3. Setting it - Understand how the alarm settings work, if you set it to 30 minute cycle and set the alarm for 0600, it'll start coming on at 0530. I thought it didn't work at first because I thought the light would start coming on at the alarm time, instead it is designed to be full brightness at the alarm time.

Overall:
I'm happy I spent the money. This ranks high on the list of things in the last several years that have allowed me to put my life back to normal. If the price were lower, it was smaller, and the product looked more modern this would definitely be 5 stars or more if they allowed it.

Love My Biobrite - Helen Crawford "Slee on Mar 10, 2009

Before buying the BioBrite clock, I read in one of the earlier reviews that the method of programming the clock was rather complex-- This is not true. (Or the manufacturer changed the method since then.) It is a simple matter of pressing a button repeatedly until you get to the item you need to program (whether it is the time, the alarm time, etc.), making the change, then either letting it return to the time display on its own or pressing the button again to return. Easy!

As for the product itself, it works just as I hoped it would. The light and clock are a lot bigger than I imagined; it'll take up a good amount of space, width-wise (about 10 inches?) on your nightstand, but it isn't that deep. But it appears and feels well-made; the light globe is heavy-duty frosted glass, not flimsy plastic, which is good, because it gets hot when the light is on full-power.

When I use its "sunset" feature, it sometimes abruptly lowers the light dramatically. I think I've resolved that problem by turning on the light while the alarm is off, and letting the light stay on for a minute or so before activating the alarm.

One thing that does bother me, however, is that there doesn't appear to be a dim option for the time display if you do not have the alarm set. The display rather too bright w/o it. To resolve this, I turn the clock away from me. I don't use the alarm on the weekends, so it isn't so imperative that I know what the time is, anyway!

Overall, I rate this product high. I love waking up to light rather than noise!

Good, But . . . - Jade Buchanan on Apr 6, 2009

Pros - It does work. I wake up feel more 'awake' than I did with an audio alarm jolting me out of bed.
Night Light - If I read in bed, it's really nice to have a light that I don't have to worry about turning off.

Cons:
Expensive - For what you get it is way over priced. Another review said it was worth about 60% less than you pay and I agree with that.
Brightness - I am a heavy sleeper and it's not sufficient to wake me up in the morning. Usually the beeper wakes me, but it does pull me from a deep sleep to a very light one. I've tried adjusting it to longer and shorter periods, but I still have to rely on the audio. I hope this will get better as my body gets used to waking up with a light.

The Sun Also Rises . . . Right On Your Nightstand - iPadtato on Aug 3, 2009

I heart this alarm. My mother gave me my first BioBrite when I was a teenager in college--it lasted 13 years. It was and is the only thing that ever really gets me up in the morning. There's a light that gets progressively stronger (ie, the sunrise) and you can choose different sunrise speeds. There's also a matching audible alarm when it reaches full sunrise. It's also a great bedside nightlight because you can make the sun "set" or leave at one brightness. If you leave the light on for very long (like an hour), it can get a little hot if you touch the large outer bulb cover. But, that's what makes it totally bright in the morning. If you have problems getting up in the morning--especially in winter when the sun rises later--then this alarm is for you.

Works Well For Me, But Not For Everyone - Zymok on Dec 2, 2009

I've been using this clock for a couple of months now and am quite satisfied with the product. Not everyone will wake to a light though, and potential buyers should be aware of this. My wife, for example, will sleep through the entire fade-in cycle, while I wake easily about halfway through. This is an advantage for me, but clearly not what everyone wants.

Besides that, the unit seems to be well made, with a solid-feeling base unit and globe. My unit came with no instructions, but the controls are so simple you really don't need any.

The time display is bright when the alarm is not set - bright enough so that I have to cover it if I'm going to sleep without setting the alarm. There is no way to dim the display without setting the alarm, and this is annoying.

At $120, the unit is a bit pricey for its functionality, but if the unit lasts for a long time, it will be well worth the price.

Just What I Needed. - E. Martinson "Ladlen on Feb 12, 2009

I have one window to my bedroom and not much light gets in at all. Before i got this when I woke up I had no idea if it was 6AM or 10AM. This will subtly wake you up at the time you want to with either a 30,60, or 90 minute sunrise.
Now when I wake up its with a nice warm sunrise and if the light coming through my eyelids doesnt wake me up, the nice subtle beeping alarm does. I have never been startled out of bed with a blaring alarm after purchasing this.
You can also set it to a sunset so it will slowly go from light to dark over a given time. Also there is a feature that will turn it on and off sporadically so it looks like someone is home while you are away on vacation or out of town for a few days. So far I love it.

The only downside is the light is not extremely bright but it will defiantly light up a room. Also its a little pricey.

Great Way To WAKE UP - Karla J. Crawley "Ka on Jan 12, 2009

This is a really great find. I love waking up this way as opposed to the suddenly loud "alarming" variety of wake-up. I feel much better waking up this way, no shock wake-up but a gradual wake-up you aren't even aware is happening until you open your eyes and realize it's time to get up. I read reviews before I purchased this and decided it was worth the risk. I am really glad I did. It doesn't seem all that large to me (some noted they thought it was large). I would, and will, buy this for a gift.

Saved My Job! - Alaskanbetty on Apr 17, 2011

I was about to get fired for being 2-5 minutes late to work everyday because I just couldn't get out of bed. I am one of those really deep sleepers that has a horrible time waking up early. Before I bought this alarm clock, I was using my cell phone, and two other sound alarms to wake me up. Obviously all of my sound alarms were not working for me. Ever since I purchase the BioBrite Sunrise Clock I have been waking up a few minutes before I am supposed to be up! AND I'm not even angry! I wake up more relaxed and ready for the day. My boss is shocked because I have been showing up to work ten minutes EARLY everyday! Thank you so much BioBrite for making this amazing clock!!!!

This Is The Best Invention Since Sliced Bread. - snow on Feb 3, 2011

I have had one of these for going on 7 years now and it still works great. My doctor recommended I get one, I'd had severe insomnia for years and it was destroying my life. I was constantly getting into trouble at work for being late because I couldn't get out of bed on time. My life was spiraling out of control because I had 2-3 hours of broken sleep every night for years. I was going literally crazy and even medication wasn't helping.

Now I am not going to say that this clock cured my insomnia because it certainly didn't. But it actually helped re-set my sleep patterns and I consider it an integral part of my overall successful treatment. When I use it, I wake up slowly, and STAY awake. When my insomnia creeps back in, I use the Sunset feature to go to sleep more consistently.

Yep I still have bouts of insomnia but they are much easier to treat now. I highly recommend this to anybody who simply can't get out of bed in the morning. It will help you so much. Nope I don't work for these people and this isn't the only product I have reviewed. I am a real person who found this clock helpful. (I do think it's big n'ugly though!)

This Is Exactly What I Was Looking For A Light To Do! - Justin Ryan "FreshOa on May 31, 2010

I purchased this item with the intention of having a light source that can turn on while I'm sleeping to wake me naturally, and thus shift my sleep phase back to normal, as I have a phase shift delay sleep disorder. This is the third light I'm going through, and I wish I had just bought this one the first time, but at the time it was a bit more expensive.

Settings: The instructions are very clear, and the settings are very easy to handle. I had my clock programmed in minutes.

Light: This uses a 110V 60W candle bulb, which doesn't quite match the intensity of many of the other Light Boxes or SAD lights out there. However, it is sufficient light to brighten a room, and if used per the instructions on basically all SAD lights - 12-18 inches from the face, then it is definitely bright enough to wake someone from their sleep. Because it is not a high powered fluorescent bulb, it is allowed to slowly increase in luminosity for 90, 60, 30, or 15 minutes before the alarm is set.

Aesthetics: This modern looking clock comes in the charcoal color, which is almost black and matches my furniture. I'm happy I don't have to have some silver space pod sitting there attracting attention.

What this model does NOT have: Since this is the lower line, it has no radio, which I don't use anyway. But also does not have the White Noise feature that the lighter color model is offered with at the same price. Since I don't have trouble falling asleep, I don't mind, but for those who do that may be something to consider.

The Alarm: This has a beeping alarm that goes off after the light reaches 100% intensity, at the time you set your alarm for. This beep can be disabled.

NightLight: I found that this device is very easy to control the intensity of the light for reading at night, so that it is not a very bright light. This also has the built in function of dimming to either a 0% light or 5% nightlight setting. The nightlight is very dim and provides just enough to see where you are going in a dark room. This was a little more involved to set....ie you have to press two buttons simultaneously, but once you figure it out, it's easy.

Security: THere is a security feature that, when set, the clock will engage the lamp at random times between 4pm and 11pm. That's just nifty! ;)

That's about all I can say about this. The glass isn't too thin, the plastic parts aren't flimsy and cheap... I love it!

Nice Clock, Not So Great Service - Longtail "LT" on Jan 21, 2010

The clock is pretty sweet. It's such a relief in the mornings for my body to wake up thinking that rousing was it's own idea instead of getting shocked awake by an awful noise. I don't get the "oh god, I have to go to work" recoil anymore and get up snarling for coffee. I'm actually happy to get up and most of all, I feel rested when I do. I've always been a stickler about getting enough sleep, but getting jarred out of deep sleep made me feel like I never slept. Waking up with light gently means I feel good, I'm alert, and I don't need coffee in the mornings. So five stars for the clock!

PS: If you use the 30 minute sunrise sequence, it will start a half hour before your get-up time. So if you set it for 6am, it will start lighting up at 5:30. I normally wake up fairly early in the sequence, so I end up with an extra 20 minutes or so in the morning to relax with. You can adjust accordingly.

Also, the frosted glass domed cover DOES heat up, so be careful not to drape anything on it.

As for service, I wasn't impressed. I waited pretty much a month for the clock, which never arrived, and then I had to contact the seller to ask where it was. To their credit, they reshipped it to me immediately, but they sent me the white clock instead of the charcoal colored one I ordered. I just don't feel like hassling with it anymore, so I'm keeping the white one.

Great Idea - Donna Lamphere "wees on Oct 8, 2009

This alarm clock worked for me. I do recommending using the buzzer just in case. I have slept through the light a couple of times. The snooze option isn't so great, and this is priced too high for an alarm clock.

Non-Rude Awakening - Kitchen Angel on Apr 20, 2009

What a fabulous alternative to a shrill alarm jarring you awake out of a deep slumber. The Biobrite is a sunrise clock that really works. The default setting is a 30 minute gradual awakening, but other settings from 15 minutes to 90 minutes are also available. The thirty minute setting is perfect. Over the course of thirty minutes before selected wake-up time, the large frosted globe begins to softly glow until full room-filling brightness is reached at the time one wishes to awake. One wakes gradually to the light much like one does later in the morning as sunlight fills one's room. At the pre-selected wake-up time, a gentle clicking sound grows louder until the clock is shut off. Certainly makes getting up in the dark more pleasant. The only drawback is the considerable size of this clock which will take up a goodly portion of your nightstand, but the first morning that you are gently and gradually awakened, you will not mind the lack of decorator appeal!Easy directions are included, and the display brightness is adjustable with this new model.

No More Waking Up With A Racing Heart - cooee on Oct 9, 2011

I love this clock. I had looked at such clocks in the past, but felt the cost was more than I should spend. However, I recently switched to a work schedule that required me to wake up 2-1/2 hours earlier than I was used to, *and* to wake up well before daylight. I decided it was time to try the clock. It works for me even better than I had hoped! If the clock lasts even just a few years, it will be money well spent.

Every morning I wake up in such a gentle manner that I've even been using it on weekends (when I used to sleep in). The sunset setting helps me fall asleep, and I actually look forward to the peaceful, gradual sleepiness that overtakes me when I use this clock.

The volume of the alarm is perfect for me. Most mornings I wake up before the alarm goes off anyway. I did have to cover the display because there's enough brightness that I find it disturbing; I used a couple of layers of post-its and that did the trick. But I like it really dark in the room, so others might not mind the display. The globe of the lamp is shaped like a rising moon and I like that, too; I think it makes it look more "natural."

At first I thought the settings/buttons were going to confuse me, but once I dove in and just followed the directions in the manual, it was really no problem at all to figure out.

I like this gadget so much that I'll be taking it with me whenever I sleep somewhere else! =)

Gentle Alarm Clock For Those Who Like Light - Ms. V on Jan 4, 2010

I received this for xmas and love it - it works great for me. By the time the light comes on I'm awake, gently, without shock of loud music or buzzing. I also use the sleep function that gets darker over time and found that's surprisingly effective. It's even put me to sleep when I'm watching TV and thought it would just be a lazy way to turn off the lights. Really like this clock and look forward to easier times getting up during the winter.

BioBrite Sunrise Clock - Leapea on Nov 30, 2009

The distributor no longer had the Charcoal model available so they sent me the upgraded model with white noise. The clock was easy to set up and has worked so far without problems. I actually like the white noise feature as part of the sundown mode much more than I thought (I actually didn't think that I'd use it). I also really like that you can change the bulb on your own and that the features seem relatively simple (and therefore hopefully it will last longer than the 7-year limit of some of the other light therapy clocks).
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to wake me up as well as I thought - I think that I'm a heavy heavy sleeper - however, when I use it in combination with my old alarm clock, the fact that my room is bright helps me get up sooner (with less snooze attempts) than before. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase and think that it will help me get up during the early morning rotations in medical school and beyond.

Really Great Product, Good Company - White Sheep on Aug 16, 2009

This is a super product that provides a great way to wake up in the mornings. We wake up much easier and more refreshed with the Sunrise Clock. Great find. If you have trouble "escaping the mattress" in the morning, I highly recommend this clock. The gradual wake-up makes it much easier to "rise and shine" when the cycle reaches the end. Also, I really like the nice "cricket" sound of the audible alarm (which sounds at the end of the "sunrise" cycle). Much nicer than the standard jolting alarm clock. Also, we purchased ours used and when we had a problem, the company replaced it quickly, no questions asked! Wow. Great product and great service in one package. Thank you, BioBright! Will buy again.

Excellent Product - Patricia Paige on Nov 11, 2011

I purchased BioBrite Sunrise Clock, Advanced Model in September 2010, 14 months ago. I first want to thank all of the people who wrote reviews of this clock because I read them all and they were very helpful. Many people gave tips on how to use the clock that have greatly benefitted me.

I purchased this clock because I have noticed over the years that I wake up with the sunlight. Getting up at 5:30 am in summertime is easy because the sun tells me when to wake up. Getting up at 6:30 am in winter is difficult because my body wants to sleep until it gets light - waking to music doesn't even help. I hoped that a sun clock would make that sleep to wake transition less painful.

Well it does. This clock does everything I wanted it to and has made my life so much better! I have recommended it to several people.

It took some concentration to learn how to use the clock, but once you have it down, it is very easy. There is a bit of functionality that I don't need, (fade-down, alarm beeper, etc.) but the functions I do use make it easy to dial in the clock to my needs. I am grateful for tips from the reviewer who mentioned that s/he wakes up about half-way through the fade-up cycle. I am the same, so I set the fade-up to 1/2 hour and make the half-way point the time I want to wake up. I.e. to wake up at 6:15 I set a 1/2 hour fade up with a 6:30 end time. The light wakes me up half way through the fade-up, right at 6:15.

The clock is heavy because the top is glass. The bottom of the clock does get very hot, but not dangerously so. I have had it sitting on a cardboard hat box for the last year, and have had no problems. It is very pleasing to look at, sort of reminiscent of the yin-yang symbol. After 14 months I have had no problems with the clock at all, and it gets used 5 days a week - so I would say that the quality is excellent.

Compact Simulator - BMSNYC on Oct 30, 2011

I despised this product when I first received it. It looked expensive for what it is. I have another phillips simulator with much more options. I soon requested a return, which was gracefully given to me by amazon. My boyfriend suggested i use it some more. I grew to love the simplicity of the functions and the compact size on a night table. the phillips equivalent is bulky in white plastic. This is a shorter, simpler version with warmer colors. It works as advertised, although i had issues making it work when it first arrived. I am giving it a 4 start rating because I think it is expensive for what it really is. I love it though.

Better Than Expected; Almost Perfect - Marv Farmin on May 20, 2011

This is just the best way to wake up. It's worth the expense. Easy to setup. The only thing is that if you don't reset your alarm every time you change the alarm time (you reset it by unpluging it and waiting a few seconds and then plugging it back in) it's not guaranteed that the alarm will go off. So if you're schedule is such that you have to wake up at a different time each day then this might not be ideal for you. I have such a work schedule- but I still love this enough that I'm willing to reset it each time. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. For people who have to wake up at the same time each weekday this is perfect.

Amazing! - SonOfJurel on May 11, 2011

What an amazing product! I purchased the pearl version, the one with the sleep sounds; the sounds aren't great, but a little extra noise usually helps me go to sleep, so it's a plus for me (and you can control the volume). Note: the charcoal version of the BioBrite does not have the sleep sounds.

I keep it on my bedstand, about 2 feet away from my pillow, which seems to be ideal.

Pros:
-Wakes me up very gently in the morning, and somehow doesn't up my wife
-Puts me to sleep at night
-Saves the time (and your settings) automatically if there's a power outage, or if you unplug it briefly
-Somewhat attractive design
-Easy to program
-BioBrite has amazing customer service (I have an entire story on this that I won't add)
-Security feauture for when you're on vacation
-A Friday Night Mode, that puts you to sleep with the sounds, but doesn't wake you up the next morning
-It's a night light and reading lamp, uses bulbs that you can buy almost anywhere

Cons:
-Not cheap, but well worth it
-I purchased from Amazon, and the glass globe came shattered in a million pieces, I called BioBrite and they shipped me a new globe for free

Worth Every Penny - A. Nash on Apr 5, 2010

I've had this alarm clock for over 2 years and the bulb still works perfectly. No problems at all. Worth every penny because it really gets me out of bed in the morning! Nothing is worse than getting up in a dark room ... it's so easy to wake up when you room is already bright!

Waking Up Is A Pleasure Now! - L. Gronbach "ringzem on Nov 8, 2009

I love this clock!! After many years of groggily waking to a blaring alarm in a dark room, this clock wakes me gently, and I'm ready to get up when the beeper goes off. It took a couple of days of getting used to the settings, and the bulb burned out within the first week (I had a bulb that fit it, and it's worked perfectly since), but it is a breeze to use now. It is bigger than I expected. I recommend this clock to anyone who struggles with the dark awakening.

Effective And Relaxing Wake-up. - Strap on Oct 13, 2009

Although a bit pricey, this item does in fact ease you out of your sleep in the morning. I recommend it to anyone who dislikes being jolted out of bed by a noisy alarm clock.

A Waste Of Money - MsAmyGal on Nov 17, 2011

I gave this product two stars because for the week it worked, I actually liked it. Within a week, the glass dome had cracked, and the clock stopped keeping time (it would "freeze" on certain times) and the program button stopped working so that I could not change the time that the alarm went off. I could fix this by unplugging the clock, plugging it back in and the pushing the program button but it was a temporary fix. The clock would work for maybe a half hour and then freeze up again. I finally disgusted and unplugged it altogether. Basically what I bought is an extremely expensive dust collector for my nightstand.

BioBrite Alarm Clock - KCOS on Jul 7, 2011

I bought this clock for the sunrise feature but it turns out I love the sunset as well! Just like it automatically brightens when you wake, you can have it automatically dim while you go to sleep (over 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes). This helps you get sleepy if you aren't already! Otherwise it is fairly easy to use if you spend a couple minutes looking over the directions when you get it. I love my BioBrite!

Good With Bad - missvitamin on Jan 25, 2011

Good:
Sundown and Sunrise features.
Optional beep is not obnoxious.

Bad:
Huge; the dimensions don't lie.
Hard to put the glass top on; not sure how I will get it off when bulb needs to be changed.
Very bright display. I had to put blue painter's tape over it so I can sleep at night (ironic). I lift part of the tape to check time or alarm settings or to program.

A reviewer complained that the sunrise alarm feature stopped working. It thought the same, but after these actions it continues to work as expected: 1) unplugged, plugged back in, and reset it, and 2) got used to the fact that when fumbling to turn off the alarm I might press the wrong button so I had to be sure to check the settings if I thought I pressed the wrong button.

First One Was Defective But Wonderful Customer Service Experience - CH on Dec 13, 2010

I had this clock for a few weeks before it started to malfunction (it beeped loudly when it was plugged in and the light would instantly come on instead of fade up). I was disappointed because the times it did work, it was a great way to wake up, very peaceful, and had me feeling much more alert and not so groggy.

Despite the clock failing, Biobrite's customer service department is -very- responsive, communicative and helpful and has sent me a replacement model, with which I haven't had any problems yet.

The product itself is great when it worked and have my fingers crossed this one will hold - if not I know I'll have Biobrite's excellent customer service there to help.

Perfect Sunrise - Sunshine1106 on Oct 17, 2010

I was looking for something that could simulate a sunrise as I hate getting up in the dark. I came across this and I couldn't be happier! I bought the bare bones model (no cd player, radio, etc.) because all I wanted was the alarm clock. I'm extremely pleased with the product. The digital clock isn't too bright when not using the alarm. If you want to snooze, you can hit the snooze button and dim the light and it will gradually get bright again. Nice feature not really mentioned. It certainly makes getting up in the morning more pleasant...even on Mondays!
