Works Great-good As A Littmann - R Alan on Sep 3, 2007

This is a great scope for the price, and much better than others costing more. It works as good as a Littmann at 1/3 the price. The additional earpieces are helpful, and the different colors are fun.

Best Stethescope - erica on Apr 18, 2011

I've been a nurse for 7 years & had been using a Littman scope since I was in nursing school, then I discovered this scope! Wow! A fraction of the price of a Littman & exponentially better quality!

Great Deal! =) - Jenifer Schneider "J on Jul 9, 2009

I am in my senior year of Nursing School and I bought this stethoscope for my second semester of my junior year because the stethoscope our school gave us was horrible! This stethoscope works great and looks great as well! I researched many stethocopes before buying and I am very glad I picked this one!

A Littman Without The Price - CCG on Mar 5, 2011

I have used many different stethescopes in 20 years as a paramedic this is as good as a littman but doesn't kill the pocketbook, good sound and the earpieces block out noise which is great when working out doors don't waste your money on the expensive brand

Love It! - Niambilovesyou on Jan 27, 2011

After struggling with blood pressures and breath sounds for several months, I finally decided to order my own stethoscope to see if it was me or the equipment I was using at school. It was the equipment. I did a little research (well, a lot of research) and decided to go with this one. It seemed like a nice one to start off on - great reviews, inexpensive, and a cool color. I purchased it thinking that it would be my first one, and I would get something more expensive later, but I'm prety sure I will keep it around for as long as I can and then get another one like it. Some of my classmates purchased Littmann brand, but when I told them how much mines cost and breezed through my check offs, they started looking up ADC for themselves. The sound quality is great the price is amazing, it's lightweight, and the color makes it stand out from the other stethoscopes in my class. Great product!!

Great For The Price! - musiclovinpisces "C" on Mar 8, 2011

I ordered the frosted lilac (which actually looks more pink than lilac)a few months ago right as I was coming to the end of nursing school. All throughout school I was wondering if I was going deaf because I purchased a cheesy little stethoscope from the bookstore at school (which they should not be allowed to sell!!). I couldn't hear anything when I tried to listen to lung sounds!! When I purchased this stethoscope I was amazed at the difference! I am working as a nurse now and have had only a few problems with it, but it's usually on elderly patients who don't quite understand that "I'm going to listen to your lungs" is not an invitation to start chatting! I gave it only 4 stars because while it works pretty well considering the low cost, I've noticed that I can hear a lot easier with some of my coworkers stethoscopes. I still don't think I can convince myself to buy a Littmann when this brand's prices are so much lower!

Nice Stethoscope For Nurses - stoberto on Mar 16, 2011

This stethoscope is very comparable to my Littman Classic, which never turned back up after leaving it at the hospital one day. I can hear everything I need to with it. It is slightly longer than the Littman and about the same weight. This stethoscope is definitely a better bang for your buck.

I Love This Stethoscope - cwilliams on Jan 3, 2011

I just recently had to replace my last ADC ADSCOPE and it broke my heart, i had it for six years, had i not been leaving it out in my car in the arizona sun i doubt it would have met the end it did, because of the sun damage this winter the tubing froze and broke, (just dont hang any stethoscope in your car) i work as a paramedic and much prefer ADC over any other brand, i have gone threw a Littman or two and for the enviroment i work in the ADC was far superior for hearing over a diesel engine, i did use a littman on occasion when also working as a tech in the clinical setting, as its better in a "quieter" enviroment, but in the ride i had to pile linen under the arm to hear the bp and not just road/engine, and i just plain dont like the electronic ones, but hey when the poo hits the fan most people are happy to use what ever stethoscope is closest to them (even the $2 disposables lol), so really in the end it comes down to what you will be using it for and what you can afford. they all have their place, really i have been reading these reviews and i think sometimes its only the brand/price getting reviewed and not the actual product, if your looking for a affordable, reliable in any setting stethoscope in my opinion i highly recommend you try ADC

Great But Heavy - Teresa Roberts "Tere on Apr 23, 2010

This is a great stethoscope and I can hear very well on it maybe even better than the Littman I once owned but this is heavy. It says its light weight but its not. The first day that I took it to work all the nurses wanted to look at it and everyone said the exact same thing. So if you want a good stethoscope and don't care about its weight then this is perfect.

Excellent Choice - betty lung on Jul 1, 2008

The Adc 603 provides great clear sound, better than some more expensive stethoscopes. Also the ear pieces are amazingly comfortable. It has a great value for a low price.

Well Made, Low Efficiency - Brian Auger on Jul 17, 2008

This stethoscope is beautifully made, and looks to be a clone of the Littman Classic II SE. This stethsocope has been independently reviewed at http://www.forusdocs.com/reviews/Acoustic_Stethoscope_Review.htm which rated scopes on the basis of loudness and clarity.
Sound clarity on this scope is good but loudness is poor. You will need good hearing to use this stethoscope.

Great Stethoscope For A Great Price - Gretchen Noel Kohlme on Feb 23, 2011

This stethoscope works great for me. I haven't tried any of the high priced stethoscopes so I can't really compare the two. I'd purchase this again.

Excellent ADC Stethoscope Love The Stainless Steel! - MCC Nursing Student on Feb 22, 2011

Excellent ADC Stethoscope. Love the stainless steel! Great price and great performance. Shipped quickly and boxed perfectly!

Thank you very much
Nursing Student!

Very Good, Very Well Priced - Jason S. Antman on Feb 13, 2011

Very good. I bought this mainly because it's significantly less expensive than the Littmann models, and I generally don't use my personal scope that often. It looks and feels comparable to the Littmann Classic II, and I think it performs nearly as well for blood pressure and breath auscultation, even in the (pretty loud) back of a moving ambulance. No complaints at all.

ADC Breast Cancer Awareness Stethoscope - Brenda D. Severson " on Nov 17, 2008

As with other ADC stethoscopes I have had, this one allows me to hear all that I need as an ER nurse. Not quite as good as my old cardiology one at distinguishing heart tones, but adequate for my current position. The bright pink color is also great for stopping it from growing legs as my others have if you know what I mean.

Better Than My Littman - Valerie on Sep 8, 2011

I bought this to replace my Littman II cardiology that walked out of the ER on its' own. I was very surprised that this one is better! I bought the stealth black. It is heavier than it looks, and has very good sound. I can hear high and low pitch depending on pressure applied to the diaphragm. I doubt I will buy another Littman. I am very, very pleased.

Sounds Good To Me! - M Spocky "John" on Sep 2, 2011

I'm certainly no expert. This is my first stethoscope. It is very easy to use and I hear sounds very well.

Excellent Stethoscope. - Keith on Aug 25, 2011

Im an EMT and use this several times a week in the field. Its well built and is a great stethoscope for the price. I highly recommend it.

Love This!!! - Brandi L. Mcgehee "l on Jun 1, 2011

Let me first to say I was shopping for a Littmann when I came across this one. After reading the reviews, my mind was made up I would give it a try. Boy, am I glad I did!!! I LOVE this stethoscope! Using it just about everyday for work, I can tell you it has great sound quality and appears built to last! Having the color option was just icing on the cake, but I DO get compliments on it all the time and I've had several co-workers ask me where I got it. I am confident in saying if you need this for general assessments, or for personal use, you will not be disappointed- especially for the price!

Love It - sonya on Mar 23, 2011

I was a little skeptical about getting anything other than a Lidtmann but I am very pleased with my stethoscope!

Love The Pink!!! - JP "Jessica" on Feb 2, 2010

I love the pink color. Acoustics are comparable to a Littmann but at a much better price!

Great Product! - C. Ivie on Jan 17, 2010

I have heard this stethoscope is comparable to more a expensive brand of scope, and I would say it definitely is. It is great quality, and sounds are clear and loud. I would recommend this to everyone.

Excellant Stethescope - DEBORA M. RILEY on Aug 11, 2009

excellant product, good quality, not cheap, as good or better than the high dollar competition, but at a lower price.

Lightweight, Great For Everyone Who Isn't A Cardiologisst - Ronald T. Baptiste on Oct 24, 2009

This Stethoscope is perfect for a medical student who wants a strong, durable and affordable stethoscope. It does a great job picking up the high frequencies, but suffers with the lower frequencies which is fine when you're only listening to hearts and lungs on morning rounds. Train on this one, and upgrade when you are a doctor with more funds.

Kymom - Lia Back on Feb 4, 2009

Bought this as present for a nurse who loves pink. She was thrilled with the color and performance. Says it is a great stethescope. She works in a large hospital.

Stethoscope - Alice Golway on Jan 9, 2012

my daughter needed this for grad school...it came in a timely manner and was just as it was as described...we will definitely order from this vendor again...

Better Than Expected - Tasha on Jan 7, 2012

I cautiously bought this stethoscope, with my fingers crossed, after reading a lot of positive reviews. As a nursing student, I needed something affordable and durable but that would also allow me to actually hear. I was having trouble with our cheap school stethoscopes, mainly because the earpieces hurt my ears so bad that I couldn't leave them in long enough to even try to hear anything. This stethoscope was affordable without being too cheap, the sound is clear, and it doesn't hurt my ears at all. It is actually pretty comfortable to wear. I have not used it in the clinical setting yet, but I am already very impressed with it. It seems to be well constructed, but only time will tell how well it actually holds up. For now, I am a very satisfied customer.

Great Product. - Adeucegolf on Jan 3, 2012

I am so impressed with this product. Was looking for a replacement stethoscope, but didn't want to spend $150 plus on a backup. This one, at less than $50, far exceeded my expectations. The clarity and range of sounds is unmatched. This is now my everyday stethoscope and I would reccomend it to anyone looking to find an alternative to the expensive Littman scopes. The weight is good, the quality is apparent. I am an Army nurse and the stealth black looks great, subtle and sharp.

Lets Me (pregnant Mom) Listen To Baby's Heartbeat - joyello18 on Dec 29, 2011

Since I'm not a medical professional, this is a review from an "amateur" home user.

I'm pregnant with our first child, and very cautious about all the techology used during pregnancy. As a result, we are using a midwife, not having a sonogram, and not using a doppler (the battery-operated device typically used to listen to babies heartbeats when they are in-utero). The midwife has been able to detect the baby's heartbeat since 20 weeks pregnant, using a fetoscope (a specialized stethoscope designed for manual detection of baby heartbeat). However, the fetoscope "cord" is very short, and doesn't reach from my belly to my ears. My husband has been able to hear the baby's heartbeat, but not me.

I read a book that said by six months pregnant, you could hear baby's heartbeat using a standard stethoscope, so we ordered this one from Amazon. There was a different brand being sold cheaper, but this was the cheapest one that had great reviews. We used it the minute it arrived, and even though we have never used a stethoscope before and have no medical training, the directions were pretty easy to understand. We found the baby's heartbeat in less than a minute, and I heard my baby's heartbeat for the first time! I expect to listen to the heartbeat every few days, since a stethoscope doesn't send any type of "signal" into the uterus, which is what I am trying to avoid. It's really fun to lay quietly and listen to the baby.

A few tips for any other amateur users out there who haven't had training on medical use of a stethoscope:

The earpiece needs to go into your ears facing a certain direction. If you can't hear anything, flip the earpiece around so the part that was in your right ear instead goes into your left ear, and you should be able to hear.

The part that needs to touch your skin is the flat side with the logo on it, not the smaller metal side that has the rubber lip. In the photo of the item, the part that is facing up (the smaller side of the "bell") is how it should look. Apparently the flat side with the logo, that looks like a clear piece of plastic, is called the "diaphragm." That was the part we put against my belly (or against a person's chest) so we could hear.

Finally, you will need to lay down on your back (not for long obviously), and be familiar enough with your baby's body inside your belly to figure out where the torso is. Hopefully you have gently pressed around your belly enough to detect where the "feet side" of the body is at any given time, and where the "head/torso" side is. The stethescope needs to be within a few inches of the torso in order to hear the heartbeat. When we put it on the opposite side of my belly, over the feet, we could not hear the heartbeat, just my digestive noises. Once we located the torso (at six months pregnant, shouldn't be too hard to do since it is larger and firmer than anything else, and can be located with gentle pressing), we placed the stethescope over the torso and pressed down slightly. Then it was really easy to hear the heartbeat. It sounds about twice as fast as your own heartbeat, and is so amazing to listen to.

As far as the quality of the item, other medical professionals who have reviewed this item are better qualified to answer. We found the earpieces to be tolerable, and the overall feel of the metal and plastic to be medical grade. Nothing felt "cheap" about it, but then again, we have no basis of comparison.

We ordered the standard black one. It comes with a little plastic piece to clip on the "y" part where the three cables come together, and the plastic piece has a place to write your name on it so it can be identified. Not a big deal for a home user like us, but helpful for someone in the medical field. It came with two other sizes/shapes of earpieces, which we haven't tried out yet. It also came with one replacement diaphragm.

Good luck!

Excellent Stethoscope - Duane Martin on Nov 27, 2011

An excellent stethoscope for a good price. Acoustics are good. The extra set of ear pieces make a nice bonus.

Awesome Price. I Actually Look Forward To Losing This One - Can Pick A New Color!! - Neil Paczkowski on Nov 26, 2011

Great for the price. I work as a nurse in a medical/surgical unit and this more than adequately meets my needs for a stethscope. I usually lose about 1 a year and the price of $30 makes it much easier to bear when I will lost this one! The colors are fun and whimiscal. Thinking I will go for a red one next time around.

Great Quality! - Dr Mike on Oct 30, 2011

great quality! price is excellent! I am very happy with this purchase, affordable! great quality, I would recommend this one to everyone!

Love It - BusDriver on Oct 29, 2011

I love this Stethoscope. You will too! It works great and the price is oh so nice. I'm using it for nursing class and it's has made learning to take vital signs easy. Some of the other students are struggling with other models.

Quality Materials, Well Constructed...but I Had Trouble Hearing BP - mnhtarheel on Oct 12, 2011

The Adscope 603 from ADC is a quality product. It is well constructed, and not too heavy. I have some minor hearing loss due to normal aging, and had trouble assessing blood pressure. If you have excellent hearing, it would probably work for you.

Love This Scope - chadacnp on Sep 27, 2011

I am a ACNP and work in a university medical center ER. I used littmann Scopes for years then tried ADC, I have to say I will not purchase another littmann. ADC Scopes are half the price with acoustics that are as good if not better than littmann. ADC Scopes have a longer warranty as well. People always want to walk away with your littmann scope and my ADC Scopes work so well that people will leave their littmanns and take my ADC scope (not a bad trade off) but I prefer ADC over any other scope. Can't say enough about the quality and clinical performance of ADC.

Definitely Worth Buying.... - Nurse Angela on Sep 19, 2011

I needed an adult stethoscope but did not want to spend a lot due to the tendency for them to "walk" and never return. I did some research and after reading the reviews, I decided to go with this one because of the price. I must say, I was impressed from the beginning as I opened the package. The product had a definite feel of quality and did not appear or feel cheap at all. Using it in the acute care setting has shown me that this stethoscope performs just as well as brands five times more expensive. I have no complaints with the stethoscope itself. The only complaint and disappointment is the name tag was extremely cheap and fell off within the first hour of use. But I feel that is a small price to pay for such good quality regarding performance. I fixed the tag and haven't had any issues since. Great product, great price!!!

Very Reliable Stethescope - Hoody on Jul 22, 2011

It works, sound is clear, and it's pretty. It wasn't expensive. It replaces a twenty five year old Littman that cost way more, and I am totally happy with this one. Perfect for my purposes. I didn't get the really cool all black because it was too expensive, but these scopes come in really lovely colors.

I Love It - Eva Holdbrook "perso on Jun 10, 2011

L love that there are color options that allows you to be feminine. Am usually stuck in scrubs most of the time so this buy was a fun one. It works very well. Also very affordable.

Good Product - StudentNurse432 on May 17, 2011

I am going to start nursing school this summer and I needed a good quality stethoscope, but didn't want to pay the money for a Littmann. After reading the other reviews for this one I decided to go with it. I'm glad I did! It is very good quality and the sound is crystal clear. Be sure to read to instructions first though, I made that mistake! I haven't used it in a real situation yet, but I am very happy with my purchase!

BRIGHT Orange - MLB on Dec 11, 2010

The steth was for my niece who is a student and it seemed to be pretty sturdy compared to others out there at similar prices. She loves orange and was happy to find it. Item is still working as of a few months ago.

Great For Someone Just Starting Out. - K. Just on Mar 4, 2010

I was very impressed with this stethoscope. I did a lot of research before making this purchase, and this ADC stethoscope is the best for the money, in my opinion.

Loved It! - S. Tep "Calishell" on Jan 21, 2010

The sound is clear and the pink is hot! =) Watch out though, I though that because this was so bright and not many people have this shade that I wouldn't have to worry about it getting swipped as much. I was wrong. It got swipped. =( I'm going to have to get another one...

Never Received Product!! - EMT Sam on Jul 18, 2009

I ordered this product a month ago and still have not received it and have not been able to get a reply to email inquiries. I am sure it is a great stethoscope but I would like to cancel the order if I could only contact someone. Frustrated!!
