Great Mask - Also Includes Gloves & Alcohol Wipes - A. Hand on Dec 2, 2009

Perfect to have on hand in a drawer, car, backpack, gym bag, or first aid kit. Unless you're putting this in a pair of cargo pants, though, I wouldn't call it "pocket-sized." The mask itself is pliable, includes an O2 port, and a neck strap. The hard case latches closed and the orange color makes it easy to find.

As an added bonus -- not listed in the product description -- a pair of powder-free nitrile exam gloves (latex free) and an alcohol cleaning wipe are included in the case. I was looking for a mask kit that included the gloves, so these were a pleasant surprise, making the product even more convenient where gloves aren't normally available (e.g., workplace, car, gym bag).

The mask is reusable, so long as it is properly cleaned (soapy water, followed by a soak in bleach solution according to the enclosed instructions). The filter valve must be replaced after use. Replacement filter valves (ADC part number 4053v) can be found by searching "ADC 4053v" on Amazon.

Product is marked as Made in Taiwan, Inspected in USA.

Great Price For A Basic Mask - J. Canning "Renaissa on Sep 14, 2009

I agree with all the reviews posted to date. It's a great price, the valve is already affixed, et. cettera. Just one hang up...

Pros: As above, comes in a nice hard case, the valve can be left installed (and of course is disposable - only comes with one though) and has an O2 port on the mask as well.

Cons: Really only one, which is that it isn't a true non re-breather mask, with a valve on the exhaust side of the filter/valve. When a patient inhales, they wont be drawing 100% O2 if giving assisted bag ventilation, as some ambient air will be drawn back through the exhaust side.

Overall: Obviously, the con isn't a major issue for the casual user who is not going to be giving bag or O2 ventilation, but for the EMT or Professional Rescuers out there, be aware.

Firefighter/student EMT Review - Buyer on Sep 29, 2010

This pocket rescusitator is a worthwhile purchase. The case fits in my spiewak emt pant pockets comfortably. It is a well built item, the mask has a tackiness in texture that allows a good seal to the face. It is a one time use mask, yet affordable, and is the chosen product of local first responders.

Great Blower, Great Price! - Dave839 on Aug 9, 2011

OK so I haven't tested it yet, and hope I never have to. I have used a BVM countless times and performed actual mouth to mouth on a family member, otherwise if it was a stranger I would have used a barrier device I keep in my wallet (next to the condom, LOL). These work great in theory and training, that dummy is never for want of air! With AHA switching all civilians to compressions only CPR these might only be found in hospitals and doctor's offices soon, who knows? I however have a health care provider level cert and like to ventilate once every 30, I also like not having strangers vomit and/or saliva in my mouth, therefore I have one of these. These are also great to stick in an out of the way place in your ruck in case your buddy (who's been to Thailand -a lot) suddenly needs ventilation. I like, even love (in a brotherly way) most of the guys I serve with, I however would not trust that all of them don't have some form of gonoherpasyphilaids. Thus the Pocket mask above. I will update this review if the one way valve fails and I get blood/vomit/AIDs in my mouth, you can be certain of that.

Sweet! - drdan on Sep 25, 2011

After owning a laredal (spelling?) pocket mask and comparing the quality, I'm very impressed with this mask, its not quite as nice as the laredal but its about 13 bucks cheaper and I love it for my personal trauma kit, like the orange too, I also like the fact that its quick deploy, I dont have to connect the valve, just pop it open.

Pretty Good - Hayley on Aug 22, 2011

I purchased this item for my CPR class and my CNA class as well. It comes in a bright orange case which makes it easier to find in an emergency. It comes with a strap to put around the victims head in order to better secure the mask but its not really necessary. It fits, for the most part, snugly around the nose and mouth but in order to create a good seal you have to apply some pressure and figuring out the correct way to position your hands takes a few minutes but once you get it down this product is very simple and easy to use.

Perfect For CPR Class! - Chicasmom on Oct 24, 2011

As a CPR instructor, I was looking for a quality mask at a good price for use in CPR class to practice on the manikins. The hard case is nice and keeps the masks in good condition. The masks are easy to clean and they work well with the disposable practice valves (purchased separately).

Top Quality - J. Pratt "MorganTN" on Jul 7, 2011

You never know when the need for you to step up and react in an emergency. This kit is great to have near you. The product quality is fabulous quick and easy to setup to help you save a life. I hope and pray I never need to use it but I'm ready.

Inexpensive Potentially Life-saving Device Which Everyone Should Have Handy - T. Sessoms on Jan 10, 2012

Even if you don't have CPR or other medical training, it's good to have the supplies handy sometimes. Whether it's in your car, a family safety medical pack, or whatever.. everyone should have some sort of basic health-needs supply on hand at all times. Something inexpensive like this can make the difference!

This is a quality product, and it was relatively inexpensive. A must have add-on for anyone.

First Aid - THE DRIVER on Dec 11, 2011

i bought this mask in case ill need it hopefully i wont it arrived as promised in the condition promised and its now part of my first aid kit

Perfect For EMTs - Thunder on Oct 10, 2011

I'm happy with this Item. It fits perfectly in the side door of my car. I have checked it out and it works nicely while I hope I never have to use it, I'm glade to know that I wont get a mouth full of vomit if I have to do rescue breathing. I'm getting 2 more. one for my wife's car and my back pack.

oh and I loved the price!!!!!

Solid Unit. Good Valve. Sturdy Case. - JohnDoe on Sep 13, 2011

This is the perfect unit to put in a backpack or glovebox. I would not recommend this as "pocket" unit due to the size of the case. The unit is high quality and the valve does prevent backflow into the user's mouth. It says that this unit is also "baggable" which it appears to be to me but I cannot confirm.

Great Product - Arcturus08 on Jul 13, 2011

These resuscitation masks are of good quality and the case is a great bonus. I included these masks for my students in all of my CPR/AED classes. The value can't be beet!

Great Deal! - Urban Ninja on Jul 2, 2011

High quality and a bargain. I agree with the other reviews... great product but it is too big for my purse (about the size of a mango).

Pocket Rescusitator - Byron Hebert "kc5qdx on Jun 29, 2011

After taking a First Aid and CPR class thought it would be good to have the right appliance. Compared several and decided on this one. Bought each member of the family one so there isn't any excuses should a situation arise. Fast delivery, seems to be a good product.

Ecellent Product - ARA1USN on Mar 17, 2011

I'm an EMT and this is a great product for me to carry in my truck just in case I need to do CPR.

Looks Great. But Fortunately, I Haven't Had To Try It! - iSea on Feb 20, 2011

This is, indeed, very small. It won't fits in your jeans pocket, but definitely in most purses, or big sweatshirt pockets. It looks like it's good quality. I haven't had a chance to try it yet (which is good!), so I can't review that part of it. If I ever use it, I'll update this review to let you guys know!

The BEST And The Cheapest - lotrbfme on Nov 16, 2010

Its ADC... The best brand... Excellent quality, include a pair of nitrile gloves(4x times stronger than latex and no allergic reactions) , a tissue and a good case(easy to open and close). Perfect, there's nothing else you can ask for.

Great Size, And Convenient! - M. Austin on Mar 14, 2010

I purchased th eADC adsafe pocket resuscitator for my grab and go emergency pack, it comes with a protective case to store it in. it fit's okay in my oversized man pockets. the perimiter is filled with air so it creates a little seal around you and the person being resuscitated. I say buy it cause you can't beat the quality and the price. oh and it comes with alcohol cleaning wipes x 2

Every Medical Professional Needs To Have One In Their Vehicle - D.O. World on Feb 1, 2011

Every medical professional needs to have one in their vehicle, take it on plane rides,.... Protect yourself as you help others.

CPR Mask - Paul Beach on Jan 23, 2012

The product is great, but I hope I never have to use it. The package comes with gloves, and alcohol wipes.

Hope I Never Have To Use It! - Nurse Katt on Nov 12, 2011

I bought this for my jump bag. Nice product, small, compact case! Hope I never have to use it, but if I do, I know it's there!

Needed For A EMT Class - sam on Oct 11, 2011

Purchased this item for a friend because they were too expensive in the medical supply stores. Came quickly, as we ordered it about a week before class was to start.

Great Quality - A. Chan on Jun 27, 2011

Haven't used this yet, but I keep it in my bags for emergencies. The build quality looks great and the case holds everything together ( includes a pair of latex gloves ) This is a great tool to have in your B.O.B. or First aid if you're CPR certified.

Pocket Resuscitator - addi "addi" on Jun 6, 2011

I haven't used it yet, but it makes me feel better knowing that it is in the trunk of my car.

I like the bright orange color. It stands out and is easy to spot.

I would hardly call it a "pocket"-sized item, but I work in a lab, and there is no reason for me to stash it in my pocket on an everyday basis anyway.

Decent Quality - Jason on May 30, 2011

I just took a CPR class in my academy and liked how easy it was to use a pocket mask. I used a different brand but wanted to buy one for my personal use. I keep this one in my car and will probably get another to keep in my house.

ADC Pocket Rescusitator - Merick M. Ito on Apr 25, 2011

I bought this product for my EMT classes and found it to be a very good tool to have. If you are a first responder or even just someone who knows how to perform cpr, this is a great tool to have. For the price you can't go wrong and with in the ADC kit it has everything you need. It comes with a nice orange case to easily find in a bag, mask w/ valve filter, gloves, and sanitary wipe. The mask is well made and has all necessary components like a oxygen port, head strap for use as a non-re-breather mask, and the valve fits most bag valve mask systems in use today. Valve/filter piece is removable and replaceable. There are simple drawing instructions on the bottom of the case. I have been using this mask for quite some time for practical skills practice and seems to be holding up well.

Well Built Mask - Chris G. Ward on Aug 31, 2010

I am hopeful that I will never have to truly use this mask. However, it is well built and easily portable with the handy orange carrying case.

Good Way Protect Yourself While You Are Being A Good Samaritan! - Steve Mayka on Jul 31, 2010

this product works exactly the way it is supposed to - you can easily use it to cover the nose and mouth of the victim you wish to resuscitate. and the one way valve does not restrict full pressure air being pushed into the victims lungs but does not allow anything to come back to you. and it really fits in your pocket. great first aid item to keep at the ready in a first aid kit.

Great Product! Especially For The Price! - Wesley "Price Steale on Jun 14, 2010

I could not have asked for a better product! Great for any kind of emergency kit. I use mine for my road emergency it and I just love it. Its perfect in size. Although its not for pocket use much, great for bags and kits. The bright orange cover can be easily seen! The only thing I recommend is that before you buy this item, check your local state laws and make sure that you do or do not need a CPR Certification.
I know in Oregon you do in order not to be sued. So make sure before you buy!

Great product!!

5/5

A Little Big - Kathy S. on Nov 12, 2009

Seems like a nicely made product but its really stretching it to call it pocket sized. It's fine to keep in a first aid kit or in the gove box but really to big to lug around in my purse. I purchased the keychain maskADC ADSAFE Face Shield Plus with Keychain, Adult, Orange which isn't as nice but fits in my purse.

Looks Almost Professional. - Alex Plotkin on Nov 8, 2010

Volunteer firefighter at work has one similar to this. Hope to never "really" have to use this device. Look quality.

If You Ever Need It... - John Gilbert "Evltca on Sep 3, 2010

This is what you want should you have to give someone CPR. It protects you and them.

Quality Pocket Mask At An Affordable Price. - Steve on Aug 18, 2010

This is a perfect pocket mask to keep around. It has quality construction and is compact enough to stow anywhere. The valve system seems durable and well made, as does the case. Great for lifeguards, security stands, physicians offices, etc.

The Face Mask Had A Hole In It - jdbarnhart on Oct 5, 2011

I was in the middle of a BLS certification class and I went to use my ADC ADSAFE Pocket Rescusitator and the face mask portion leaked.

I will need another one but hesitate to order it online from ADC ADSAFE. It was a Amazon Prime item as well, so in this case it did not assure product quality.

Great! - Redd06 "REdd06" on Aug 27, 2010

Looks great! Arrived in pristine condition and I added it to my medical bag. Hopefully I'll never have to use it!

Solid Product, Good Price - Steven Saus on Aug 30, 2009

Well made, but inexpensive enough that I can have one in each car and one in the bag I carry.
